So, gosh, it's really nice that Iger, Disney, and ABC continue to employee Roseanne. Great look for the company that touts tolerance, diversity, and uplifting magical dreams.
Wanda Sykes has resigned from the writing team. The show won’t be on again for months (if it does return), but I wouldn’t be surprised if sponsors didn’t want their ads aired during the Roseanne timeslot

Idk why people are surprised that Star Wars doesn’t perform well in China. This is the 4th time in 3 1/2 years, the Chinese just aren’t interested in the series.

Probably because their introduction to Star Wars was a bootlegged knockoff comic (which is interesting and insane in its own right) since the original trilogy was only released in Hong Kong in 1978. The Chinese have a completely different background in the series than the rest of the world. To many, the bootleg comics are Star Wars. I don’t even know if the prequels were released in Mainland China. The OT didn’t get their debut in Mainland China until 2014 or 2015, if memory serves me correctly.

Well, that was a surprise to me. I thought Roseanne was politically and socially liberal but was being true to playing a 'heartland' character on her sitcom. Didn't show she went the full Victoria Jackson/Dennis Miller...

To bring this to a Disney topic: Disney/ABC quickly fired her.
She's not a conservative. She's a socialist but she's also into some weird alt-right conspiracy theory stuff. Pizzagate and 9/11 Truth and some anti-Semitic nonsense.

Roseanne has been all over the place politically. I think her posing in pictures dressed as Hitler and cooking gingerbread men should have been a tip off for execs at ABC...

The new season was actually doing a pretty good job of showing both liberal and conservative viewpoints. Even had moments where Roseanne was clearly the butt of the joke for being too far right and close-minded.

You know what Disney should do for certain properties? The "It's a Wonderful Life" / "Babes in Toyland" treatment.

When it first came out, IaWL wasn't a big deal. But, the movie lapsed into public domain while the work it was based on didn't. And so, NBC pays a rather light fee to air it twice every Christmas Season.

In the same way, a version of Babes in Toyland (with Laurel and Hardy) also lapsed and that also gets a lot of air time during the holidays.

And because of this repetition, they have become classics.

So... Disney and all its streaming, cable, and broadcast companies should flood the zone with franchises they want to popularize. Release all the SW movies in China for practically free. Then give Chinese TV companies free use of all the movies. Make it popular in China simply because it is commonly and freely accessible. Then you'll get the big payday with the next feature release.

Same with The Muppets. The Muppet Show should be on every night late night on ABC and Freeform. And free to stream. Get the next generation hooked. Then, they'll pay attention to new features.

It was always weird to me that they cancelled the conservative show Last Man Standing yet Roseanne was okay.

LMS was owned by Fox and aired on ABC. Roseanne was owned by ABC and aired on ABC. It was a money thing. Now that Disney could possibly own Fox (IF Comcast doesn't win), it's ironic. I'd laugh if LMS ends up airing new episodes on ABC at some point.

LMS is coming to Fox this Fall due to demand.
