That's the coolest SW wordplay ever! I would accept Greedy shooting first if they edit the movies again to add your line into some Han dialogue somewhere.
I really would love to rant about how bad the FOX deal is for Disney, the entertainment industry and the American public. And how ignorant so many fans are about why this is bad for all of the above.
And I would love to talk about the horrible HoP redo and how Trump should have never been given a speaking role and how the whole attraction should have been rethought back to its roots. (But you gotta love them adding spikes to the stage. And what that says about where we are as a nation. Hint: it's not a good place.)
Oh, and since you love turning my threads into SW and Marvel droolfests, I'd love to tell you all how crappy the latest film was. And how Disney obviously doesn't care about what these films look like or do, so long as they bring in billions of dollars and billions more in lousy merchandise. But you'll say I am biased (I clearly had future plans as a Disney critic when I loved the original three!)
Hell, I might like to even talk about how DLP got smart and went to an old DL and decades-long TDL tradition of private limited attendance parties on NYE (Yes, they're closing at 6:30 on 12/31, but also offering free pyro to all over Lake Disney).
I might ... but I am busy celebrating the holidays. And y'all need to go see SW 3-4 times to make sure it was as bad as you originally thought (actually saw some dude on CNN #fakenews saying people who didn't like it should go see it another few times for the exact reason).
Just remember, the Spirit is never as far away as you might think. A very merry Christmas to my friends here and most people here (just not a few of my fans or anyone who supports 45!)
Mork: Yes! They wanted to beat up Monty Hall and his family! They were going from house to house singing, "Deck the Halls! Deck the Halls!" Mork: Quick, we've gotta get you out of here! The whole town's under Marshall law! There's a little fat dude in a red suit on every corner! And he's called Santa CLAWS! And he's stopping everybody! And people are really sick cuz they're putting plastic babies on everybody's lawn covered in straw! I don't know, but we've gotta get out of here before we're all infected!
Mork & Mindy! My mom used to watch it when she was little and then she showed it to me; I loved it, and we watched it every day for a while. Man, I miss Robin Williams.
Pretty off-topic, I know, but I didn't want this post to get too buried without acknowledgement.
I do not understand why people expect any of the new Star Wars films to better than any of the originals (episodes 4, 5 and 6). The originals came out in a time period when nothing like that had really ever been seen or created. We are all heroin addicts "chasing the dragon" of that first "high" we got when we saw A New Hope or Empire Strikes Back.
I have seen TLJ, and I liked it. Most likely because I did not go into the theater expecting it it to be better than Empire. I just went in to have a god time. I think people are too critical.

It’s so funny how similar this is to the problem Disney Animation faced after Walt died. Those films were nowhere near the level of their output in the golden age. Once the animated films started to get good again in the mid to late eighties, those films are very different from what Walt would have made in his day, but they’re not bad.
IMO, we're in a major adjustment phase with these SW films because the notion of what a SW film is will change and expand. Rogue One and Last Jedi are part of that necessary shift because “the universe is the character”. Long term, that shift will allow for an expansion of SW not dissimilar to the evolution of comic book films since Iron Man/The Dark Knight.

Its not quite the same thing - those characters had rich, fleshed out universes with decades of history and stories to draw from. Quite honestly, I dont know that people care about the SW universe once you move from the core group of characters...
I think you guys are selling TLJ short. It’s the best SW film since Empire and is a role model for the kinds of things future films should do, namely strong character and thematic work and expanding the galaxy.
Um, except for the fact that it made every ounce of criticism about TFA (being one great big inexplicable Mary-Sue story) true, and the fact that the majority of the publicity for the "mysteries" of that film completely moot.
Or has the Star Wars franchise diluted itself. Between Rouge 1, Star Wars proper, and upcoming Han Solo episode, A once liner, turned back on itself, story with the addition of two dead end episodes, has become diluted and confusing.
How does $DIS differentiate Rouge 1 and Han Solo from Star Wars?
You don't get what I am saying. I never thought TFA was a Mary Sue story, but TLJ basically confirmed that it was.
No, it comes from the fact that Rey just happened upon the Millennium Falcon, knew how to fly it like Han Solo (I dunno about you, but when I get into an unfamiliar vehicle, I have to at least take a moment to familiarize myself with the controls), repair it like Chewbacca, after just learning the Jedi actually exist and with no training whatsoever has the Mind Trick powers of Obi-wan, and has never even seen a lit lightsaber before and on her first try bests someone who has been training their entire life who is the decedent of the most powerful Force family that has ever existed.
Yes, because then it would have made sense. And don't be pulling this "fans made this all up" nonsense - these "mysteries" were pushed part and parcel by Disney/Lucasfilm/etc. during every step of the marketing campaign, in every article, etc. Rian shouldn't have needed directives, if he actually watched the previous film.
To be honest, when was the last time you watched TFA? I'm finding most people don't remember it all that well or have only seen it once or twice. If you watch the film a few times it becomes really clear that either the entire thing now was just made up of MacGuffin's compounded with Red Herrings into a soupy Mary Sue mess, or the boat was clearly missed in following up with it.
Thematic stuff is only as good as the underlying story allows it to be. It's hugely ironic that you label what I am saying as "fanboy talks" when to me, that's what you are saying boils down to - "oh, in the OT blah blah" - I'm talking about TFA and TLJ. Two films that when viewed back to back make no sense whatsoever.
I spent the last two years defending TFA as NOT a Mary Sue story, and TLJ just went and threw a big middle finger in my face because I was totally wrong - the fanboys were totally right, based on what TLJ did to the character.
But I get it, TLJ is great if you just want antiquated themes like
evil monster tortures and tries to murder girl, girl falls in love with him because he has romantic curly hair and sees the "good" in him that no one else does, as he continues to abuse and murder people...
Just a reminder that there is an established spoiler thread for TLJ. Some of these posts make me worry that someone is going to forget where they are posting and ruin something for somebody. Just saying...

Those of us who enjoyed the Prequels have been facing articles telling us we are wrong for over a decade. I could sink my teeth into the faults I see in TFA and TLJ but i don't want to crap on the next generations childhood the way mine was by the previous generation.

We're those the first 3 films or second 3 films. Did it start with the first film which is the 4th episode or the fourth film that was the first film? I really liked the 5th episode that was actually the second film.
Now we're does Rouge One fit in? That was the 9th Star Wars related film but really isn't a Star Wars film. I know many bothans died but were there that many in the movie?
Next year is it Han Solo or Bobo Fet? Another Star Wars film that is not a Stsr Wars Film.
Please tell me DIS has not saturated the market place to point of product dilution. Every year we can expect Santa, Egg Nog, and another Star Wars turd (Even if it's not a turd)

Some may have forgotten this 'Hate Star Wars, You Will padawan learner' (in Yoda voice), And in only THREE movies Disney has gotten there, Freaking amazing how well that 'de-risking movies' thing works.
Is it not amazing that the critics LOVED the movie, yet the audience reviews were not good, Yes it made money but probably not enough to make Disney happy.
Before anyone asks, No I have no intentions of seeing it, Though I'm sure DW will go.

Bothans were only involved with the second Death Star, not the first one. And Star Wars is not limited to just the numbered saga. It's just that now we're getting stuff previously reserved for books and comics in films and TV.
