A Change In Strategy

I take it you meant expanding the JC? It was mentioned in the talk, but it would be incredibly difficult. It would require a ton of excavation and the Treehouse/JC to be closed for an incredibly long time.

Would it be cool? Sure, but it's not gonna happen.

The plans that are in place(as far as I know), are awesome. Some awesome added to the ride.

Right. New ride route would just be rebuilding the entire thing...

I'm glad that it's getting some things...Soon, I hope.;)

While we're discussing MK expansion, I have a few questions about possible FL expansion for our resident experts.

Here is a map to help you understand what I'm discussing.

My questions are:

#1: Is the questionable area I highlighted at all usable for expansion and new attractions?
#2: Would the Imagineers design TLM's plot with future expansion in mind? (That is, if there is available expansion area behind or near it.)
#3: Of those plots, what would TLM consume? I know that it will consume at least a majority of the 20k plot but, I do not know if it will use all of it (including PPS) or how Ariel's Grotto will be effected.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Map is now working.

While I still enjoy the treehouse and would hate to see it go, the footprint that it takes up along with associated canals, support and wasted space, is a lot larger than it appears.
There is a nice plot of land there. It has been looked at for use in the past (balloon tests and such), but nothing has ever come of it.
Anyhow, it's not near big enough for Indy.
In this photo, I dropped Indy (just the actual show building) into two areas for size comparison.

Both true statements.

I know we've discussed this before, but how would Indy be accessed if it was behind PotC and on the other side of the tracks?

A long queue that goes under the tracks ala Space Mountain. At least that's what I would figure.

I can only imagine how well it could be themed.:slurp:

Is the JC refurb/overhaul any closer to green lately?
I haven't heard anything about it in months.
Same here.
It's on the list, but I don't know how far down it currently is.

Long queue, like SirGoofy said.
In this photo, the yellow line is the extended Indy queue where it begins in Adventureland, next to Jungle.
The red circle is where the interior queue starts, and the red line is the queue (in all it's awesomeness) extends out to the show building built on the old Eeyore parking lot. Longest queue they've ever built, to my knowledge.

It is an incredibly long queue. It takes several minutes (even at a brisk pace) to walk from the entrance to the pre-show ... much of it through underground tunnels/walkways. In a way, though, it adds to the attraction. You really feel as though you are entering an Indiana Jones like adventure. And the attraction is stellar. One of the best (if not the best) at DLR.

Initially, there was great concern about the recession and how it would affect the resort, but I can tell you everyone is ecstatic about our numbers throughout Quarter 1 of this year. Walt Disney World Resort has not only weathered the harshest recesssion in well over a decade, but WDW has posted record attendance numbers, consistently posting numbers breaking or nearly breaking prior records on a daily basis for the same calendar blocks from years past.

Meanwhile, the industry is sagging. While the Walt Disney World Resort may not be profitting at the same level it was two years ago, the resort continues to be massively profitable for the company

As for the OP.. where'd all the sunshine come from? Obviously not the financial of the company..

Profit in the parks division fell 50%! this quarter compared to last year. Revenue is down 12%

The #2 Division is down 50%.. and the #3 (the Studios) is down 97%! Sure, TWDIS is all smiles! :hammer:

Oh yeah ... I think the OP OD'd on pixie dust and DISNEY MAGIC!

21 pages of posts started with utter BS.

BTW, take a look at Disney's cash flow if you wanna really see trouble on the horizon.

P&R profit only cut in half! Gee, that's great news at TDO, I am sure ... considering the 4/3 deal what did anyone expect?

I am sure they are anxious to start investing billions into WDW right now ... yep ... sure.

In case you forgot (which I don't see how, since every other post of yours contains political and econmic innuendo) we are in the middle of a recession.

I'm not saying it's great, but it could be alot worse for a company that only profits from discretionary income of its clients.

You can't deny the fact there has been a great deal more chatter in the past two weeks than we have seen over the past several months. I won't begin to claim that it is all true, but even some of the more pessimistic posters are saying that they are starting to hear that things are turning around.

I haven't watched that one yet... Any links on YouTube?

Sorry for the delay in reply, but yes... Here's one of MANY You Tube videos showing a ride through of The Voyage of Sinbad. Geez, we loved that ride. Music is great, too.

It's WELL worth the watch... Look for the giant. And the whale. And the storm scene.

I've got great HD video of the whole thing at home, too.

I've seen it before, but after seeing it again I must say that it would be an absolutly perfect fit for the morocco pavillion! But maybe to shake things up they could make it a dark ride instead of a boat ride since WS already has enough of those.

Sinbad was the big surprise for me the first time I rode it. The music is perfect, the AA figures are AMAZING (pulling off the number of functions and the realistic motion in such small figures is an engineering and artistic marvel), the story is touching (and you don't have to understand Japanese to get it), the sets, colors...everything is pure Disney classic theme park attraction bliss! What else can I say? They need to bring this attraction to WDW.
