I remember Spectro as 50% solid black floats with lit outlines, and street "performers" who mostly walked and flung their arms about. MSEP has more color and better dance choreography.

Considering they had to cut the "parades" at DAK and DHS in order to just be able to pay for the new day parade next year, I wouldn't expect too much in the realm of night time entertainment upgrades for a bit. MSEP is here to stay. Ironic considering it was only supposed to be there for summer of 2010.

However the parades at DHS were cut for reasons beyond just money, due to upcoming changes at DHS. However theres no reason for AK to lose a parade too, they cant be hurting for money for one MK parade with the amount of ticket prices and mass hoards of people that are in the parks, I dont get it.

I think TDO missed an opportunity here - did they forget all about MSEP's Farewell Season at Disneyland back in 1996? It gave the fans a chance to say goodbye to the parade and of course Disney made money too. Limited-time "farewell" merch, the last performance was released on video -- they even sold the float lightbulbs!

Wish they could've given Spectro the same "farewell" treatment -- their poor planning and maintenance makes this an unfortunate waste.

Both HKDL and DL are getting spectacular new parades that will make guests forget all about the oldies like MSEP, Spectro and Fantillusion. It won't take much to blow those out of the water with the incredible new tech that's readily available for use.

I'm so heartbroken. Spectromagic was so...well, for lack of a better adjective, magical. I'll miss it dearly.
It's the main nighttime parade I remember from my childhood trips. I mean, MSEP was there when I was like a preschooler but I only remember seeing it a few times.
