Please don't think ill of my father (he was my hero, he's dead, and this was his only fault), but he only watched Olympic skating to laugh when the girls fell and cried. Elizabeth Manley was his favourite because she fell A LOT!

Just yesterday my son said to me that the Olympics would suck without King (he didn't want to be Grandpa, or Papa, or Dida) to laugh with when the skaters wiped out.

Awe this will be a bitter sweet Olympics for the family. But as I read your words, it seems your Dad will live on in your son.

Maybe if I actually had the skills or talent to do what they do, I would enjoy snow more. But as it stands now, I'm not a fan of the snow.

I guess I'm not really up on the summer olympics because I had to look up who Bolt was. (I kept seeing the movie dog in my mind. I know you weren't talking about him.)

Olympics are on now on NBC!!! I keep running back and forth like a nutcase here, between the computer and the tv in the other room. My dog is watching my frenetic sprints across the hall and back. His expression says it all—he thinks I'm cracking up.

That’s a good suggestion. Just watched Evgeni Pleshenko (Russia) skate a superb performance. Jeremy Abbott (USA) just finished his routine and unfortunately, had a few mistakes. Anyway, figure skating is my favorite sport, and I’m going to log off here now to watch the Olympics. I hope you can enjoy some of the events this evening on tv as well!

Love the winter and summer games, although I do tend to get more psyched up for the summer games and DH is much more into the winter games. He's all bothered because he can't find a useful schedule on NBC so he can try and DVR curling. I'm making him watch skating right now

OK- so my brain is officially into "Olympics mode." Coverage ends for the evening news and I immediately want more Olympics And unlike a normal night of Olympic coverage, tonight- there's no cutting back to Olympic coverage after the news...so I'm really bummed. Cannot wait for opening ceremony...so happy softball was canceled tonight and tomorrow due to the cold! Woohoo!!!
