Another round draws to a close, another park exits the competition. With IllumiNations pulling out the round's closest match over the Toy Story gang, California Adventure loses its last representative in the tournament. (TSM was also the last attraction pulling double duty for two parks.)

In other results, Mr. Toad's wild ride through our bracket is over, Haunted Mansion is the last attraction with two versions still standing, and Florida's Splash Mountain wins a hard fought battle over the original Space Mountain.

So we come to the Elite 8. Three wins will get you this deep into the tournament, but it takes three more to close the deal.

We've got some pretty interesting matchups this round:

* Wishes and IllumiNations will battle it out to be the last fireworks show standing
* A pair of spooky cross-country rivals face off when DL's Mansion meets WDW's Tower
* The Cinderella story of our tournament, TTA, takes on Indy, the only West Coast exclusive still alive
* And the two best attractions at WDW (IMO) square off as Florida's Mansion and Splash go head to head.

My votes:

Wishes (MK) vs. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth (Ep) — I'm probably going to be swimming against the tide on this one. An optimistic vision of man's real world potential vs. fantasy and magic...I know what I prefer.

Haunted Mansion (DL) vs. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (DHS) — Sentiment probably tips the scales here. That, and the fact that I really like the idea of a cross-country Mansion final. :king:

Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye (DL) vs. Tomorrowland Transit Authority (MK) — Gotta work to keep some DL alive in this thing, and Indy is clearly the superior attraction, despite TTA's undeniable charm.

Haunted Mansion (MK) vs. Splash Mountain (MK) — Two of my absolute favorites here. Hard to pick in real life, but in the context of this competition, Splash has had its share of glory.

Wishes (MK) vs. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth (Ep) - Personally, I think Illuminations is a better show, but Wishes has the nostalgia of MK which wins in my book!

Haunted Mansion (DL) vs. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (DHS) - This is probably an unfair vote because I have still never been to DL, oh well :shrug:

Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye (DL) vs. Tomorrowland Transit Authority (MK) - Again, not having been to DL I have to go with the TTA. However, I probably would've anyway I love TTA!

Haunted Mansion (MK) vs. Splash Mountain (MK) - This was a super hard choice! I think I chose SM because every time I ride it I am still amazed at how long the ride actually is and because of that spectacular, split-second view you get from the top :sohappy:

The length of MK's Splash is one of my biggest reasons for loving it. You always get off feeling like you got your "money's" worth.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth - I've said it before and I'll say it again: RoE blows Wishes (and any other nightime show) outta the water.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - Its just that great an attraction.

Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye - As much as I love the TTA, Jones is the vastly superior attraction here.

Splash Mountain - This was tough, but ultimately, the detail, thrill, and sheer length of the attraction tilts the scale for Splash.
