My husband & I were just discussing this last night. I just hope it's something great---it would make sense to me to have a little mermaid ride since it would be right next to Ariel's grotto & as far as LM being popular have yall ever seen those lines in the grotto to meet Ariel? I love Harry Potter...love the books, love the movies but it does not belong in the Magic Kingdom & it would make me really upset to see it there. The MK is about Disney...fantasyland is about Classic Disney. Please no Harry Potter!!!! :hammer: :hammer:

You people who don't see Harry Potter going into the MK anywhere. You think the idea is just insane. Let's take a look at Disneyland Park, shall we? Indiana Jones?!?! That's not Disney! But look where it is... Adventureland. Star Wars?!?! That's not Disney! But look where it is... Tomorrowland. Two of Disney's most popular rides of all time! There is no reason what so ever that Harry Potter wouldn't fit in with Fantasyland... Harry Potter is one of the biggest fantasies in the world. Harry Potter fits into Fantasyland just as well as the Matterhorn does. I really fail to see the point you are making. Sure, maybe it's all rumor. And sure, maybe it will go into a different Disney park. But from what I've heard most recently, after they get the final rights settled and they get the lagoon turned into a meet & greet, there are plans to turn it into Harry Potter. Perhaps they fell through. Perhaps it was moved in another place. There are more then six places that I've heard we could see a Harry Potter Attraction. And that's in the stateside theme parks minus DCA, and Walt Disney Studios Paris. So, go figure. Harry Potter is going to show up somewhere... it's just going to be a while. And personally, I'd rather stop talking about it for a while until we get more information. My friend "Jon" will have a 20k report in a week when he gets back. I'm not going to say where he is. ;)

Well here's my logic. I don't like Harry Potter. :) Also, isn't Star Wars and Indiana Jones in MGM?

I think Bill was talking about the fact that at Disneyland in California, they have the Indiana Jones ride & Star Tours. That being said, I think they belong better at MGM in Florida & I still stand firm saying that because the Magic Kingdom in Florida doesn't have rides/attractions that stray outside the Disney realm that it should be left that way. I like it that way...classic Disney. :sohappy:

I agree although a lot of the stories were not originally Disney :)

What's a Tron 2.0?

Tron was a movie from 1982 which utilized computer animation and back lit animation in conjunction with live action to tell the story of people (programs) who live inside of a computer and a user who travels into their realm to free the system of the power hungry master control program. It is an excellent movie, and I suggest you see it so you can see the possibility for an attraction. The more recent pc game tron 2.0 is in my estimation far greater than the movie and is possibly the greatest and most certainly the most visually stunning first person shooter ever designed.

Exactly. They already replaced AE with Stitch (well, either way AE was getting old but they probably killed two birds with one stone) and opened up a couple of kiddie rides in the past years so why not something a little wild? So what if it's Fantasyland, does that mean that everything to do with Fantasy has to be slow and boring? The fact that it IS Fantasyland gives the imagineers even more options. Just my .02..

Actually... There is a coaster in Fantasyland in Disneyland, and a Rollercoaster was being debated for WDW in Fantasyland before Walt had passed away. When he passed away, the rollercoaster fell by the way side. Marc Davis did many concept drawings for the coaster, kinda based on snow/ice. So, no, fantasyland does not have to be boring. I agree 100%

I have to agree with the others in that I don't want to see Harry Potter in MK. I'm not saying I don't want to see it in WDW anywhere, just not in MK. I think MKand Disneyland are for: a)Classic Disney and b)Pure greatness, such as Star Wars and Indy. Don't get me wrong, Potter is good. It just doesnt have the greatness needed to be in MK or Disneyland.

I'm pretty sure it was a documentary on Africa, and parts of it were used to model Jungle Cruise. Please, anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

Bill, people who know better than your source say there is no way and no rumor of Harry Potter in WDW....anywhere.

Your source has been wrong on....let's see here...everything. So unless YOU can come up with some PROOF....stop lying and bringing attention to yourself.

Weren't you banned for lying once already?

As for Harry Potter... don't seal your own coffin, k? There is a Harry Potter Attraction in planning somewhere. I heard it with my own ears. You don't hear imagineers talking on cell phones about Harry Potter Ride storyboards everyday.

It also seems that you don't think "Jon" is real... he's as real as Corrus or yourself.

I don't take it lightly what you say to me. I know we have had our differences in the past, but I had hoped we were beyond that.

And my source hasn't been proven right on ANYTHING, or for that matter, proven wrong. So I suggest you stop the bashing. There's no need for it until, and only if my source is indeed wrong.

I don't come here to argue. I come here to give rumors and news that I hear from my sources. I never said it's 100% going to happen. It's a rumor. Understand that and you'll be fine. And if you don't like my posts, use the handy dandy ignore feature this forum has. It's very nice. :)

You're wrong
ok, now that I've got that out of my system...
The African Queen was an adventure movie made in the 60's starring Katherine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. I haven't seen it in a while, but they are traveling down the Amazon river trying to get away from Nazis (aren't they always) and through the course of their journey they incounter hippos, bugs and other nasty things. They start off hating eachother and end up in love. I love that movie.

The connection is that Walt loved it too and based parts of The Jungle Cruise off of it.
