    What’s Really Happened to Imgaineering?

Great point about Fantasy Springs! That may be some proves it is actually not a loss of talent, but something to do with the Disney company corporate culture to be a problem there… That does not exist in the Oriental land company!

    What’s Really Happened to Imgaineering?

While not everyone agrees on every point, there seems to be a growing consensus that Disney has lost its way to some extent or another in the creative spaces. I feel like it’s not been able to put the same “heart”, romance (in the classical sense) or even comedic elements into many (not all… I...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

This is what happens when you can’t laugh at your self and create funny moments because you started the creative process out with moral you want to sell instead of a story you want to tell. That’s why it’s devoid of charm and warmth. That plus… making voodoo guy a scary and compelling part...

    Room Security Checks

I’ve had several friends comment recently on security checks in their rooms. Whether napping not just resting, they said they wouldn’t stop knocking and wanted to come in the room and look. This was particularly frustrating for a family with a napping baby. Has anyone else experienced this? We...

    CBJ, VOTLM opening date guesses…

What are the best guesses we have right now for Country Bears and Voyage? I know it’s here somewhere, but I can’t seem to find it.

Unsure who to vote for regarding the Walt Disney Co. Board

The best chance to see the company break apart is to continue doing what they’ve been doing. Keep loosing over and over and see what happens. Something needs to change. I’m voting for Pelt, etc. Getting back to a place where we care about putting out a profitable product more than ideological...

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

“ROI appears to be of no concern to the company…” Bingo! What is their concern then? The answer may be subliminal even to the creators and it may indicate this company (unless something changes) is in big trouble.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

It took the better part of a century to build that brand. It will take more than a few really good movies or positive changes to the parks. All I’m saying is, they better right the ship fast. Creating great product over the next few years may just stop the bleeding. Bringing the negative...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I see a lot of “it’s the price”, “it’s too complicated” stuff, which I think is partially true; but… I think “Its the Brand!”. I work on brands (one in particular) for a living. The lowering approval ratings are devastating. Maybe it was the culture war, more likely the long train of movies...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Brand devolution is a fact. What it is specifically due to, that’s debatable. Does brand devaluation impact the parks attendance? Yes! Also, Disney’s brand has never been impacted negatively before like this so we can’t use history as a guide.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Yes, there may be some minor additional effect there; but not on movies. Even if they created a seriously awesome movie, I think they have lost a small (but margins are small!) group of people that see the Disney brand attachment as a negative and won’t go see the movie. I’m not sure about...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

While I agree that price and the complexity of a WDW vacation play a role, the more concerning variable that is probably impacting attendance at the park and movies is the sharp decline in the “Disney” brand approval. The kind of public brand approval they had takes decades to build, but...

    Ton Newton - Out

I think there has been a realization that making good stories is hard… really hard, like so hard that almost everyone failes. Whenever you add another goal onto the production of a movie or attraction (such as DEI goals, but the same would apply to any other objective) it only decreases the...

    Jasmine’s new look at WDW?

Is this really what she is wearing? I could have sworn I saw her in something close to her original. On another note… it’s strange how her hair comes down between her eyes and the outfit seems a little too much like it’s trying to match more restrictive culture in regards to women’s rights...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

To slightly change direction… we spent the last week at WDW and I was honestly surprised the overall difference in feel and spirit on the west side of MK not having Splash (or even the signage, area music, etc - that were present in past refirbishmenrs) made. I’m not a fan of this project, but...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Is it just some anecdotal accounts on what would be slow days every year? My gut tells me it could be a semi-significant trend/change. Anybody feel any nervousness on the Mouse’s side?

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

This sounds great. Everyone will love the community service feel and passive lecturing. Now I see why this idea was so superior to the Splash narrative that included ….an actually compelling story. Very disappointing. Our best days may truly be behind us.
