New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Even at 90 min. That is your wait. Once. In a day. Maybe you wait another few minutes at the plane. Possibly seated or getting a snack. You don't get out of that security line and immediate get in another 30-90 min line. Then another. Even with das, most people who need it are not spending an...

Adhd and anxiety. But some combo of those are common with a lot of autism.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Big difference waiting in one 15-20 min line vs waiting in much longer lines all day.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

As someone with one child with level 1 and two other kids with no neurological issues I can assure you it is not the same.

Express. You are issued a card for the duration of your trip. At each ride if the wait is less than 30 min you go straight into the express lane. If the wait is longer than 30 min you'll present the card and the staff at the ride write in the return time (same as standby wait time). You can do...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

This sounds similar to universal which also worked well. He and we are all able bodied and coming and going is not the issue. I am relieved if this is how it works. At universal they issue a card which is presented and a time written down. Explaining at every attraction nis not needed.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I'm hopeful. Again I don't like the idea of drawing attention to my son's issue. We do our best to make him feel that he is no different than anyone else. This definitely points out a difference.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Honestly I felt bad the first time we used it. Like guilty. Then I realized all sorts of other things in life are difficult. This is one thing Disney made easy. Oh well. It's not the end of the world. There are people with much worse problems.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

My son has level 1 and got denied today. We have used das in the past. We are passholders who are typically in the park for only a.few hours then leave to head back and relax at the resort. It worked for my son who if the wait is too long will vocally stim by singing. We don't want to bother...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

My family has Pirate and we definetly would have come this weekend. The kids and I were all off today. We live 1.5-3 hours away depending on traffic and always stay on property. Disney is leaving money on the table. In years past during slow times, they would unblock passes. Nowadays with the...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I totally agree but they need to bring back more activities that have left the resorts like the water mouse rentals and such. Pool games and movies under the stars are great. Just need more options than shopping and eating.

If you could implement 1 major change throughout the parks, what would it be?

Again you are implying that they take up too much space and they are 1 inch wider than a scooter, some probably less. Of course wheelchairs are an accommodation and they are never going away. They shouldn't. Neither should double strollers for families that need them.

If you could implement 1 major change throughout the parks, what would it be?

So the isle in stores is the determining factor. One small piece of the parks. The double stroller width allowed is 31 inches. The scooters Disney rents are 30 inches wide. Should those not be allowed either? I mean the thread did ask w what would you like to change but this just sounds like...

If you could implement 1 major change throughout the parks, what would it be?

What are parents with twins, triplets supposed to do? Front to back double strollers are much harder to navigate and take up the same space overall.

Coming tomorrow hopefully the crowds stay away.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I honestly don't know but it is two separate admissions so it is a good point that they could be double counted. This is the kind of "cooking the books" I would consider to be happening. Not illegal but a bit untruthful to count the same person coming to the same park for two different ticketed...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Yes I was just telling my kids the other day. You used to chat up the families around you in line. People talked about where they are from or what they were doing they day. Now everyone just stares at their phones and gets grumpy about waiting.

News Walt Disney World Annual Pass price increases October 2023

They are hoping to just sell more weekday seasonal tickets with short expiration dates and thinking this is a short term problem they can bandaid. Pretty foolish. The high ticket prices are their primary problem.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I also fully believe we will be looking at re-tooled AP's next year. They won't necessarily lower the price. They will rework them or change the program all together to offer some expensive zero blackout, higher discount in park etc passes and a range of lower priced passes with various blackout...
