So my 4 year old asks: Why is the Beast still the Beast but Tiana....

isn't a frog? The spell was broken and yet The Beast is still the Beast in the parks and not the prince. But Tiana gets to be a royal Proncess and not a frog. Obviously it's cause the Beast is a more exciting character than the Prince...but shouldn't we occassionally see him inprince form...

    Disney in the future?

My wife and I were discussing this on our recent trip. As an entity the park is still new....as are most businesses really. Most things we take for granted are less than 100 years old as a brand or company. Disney could make a horrible mis-step and be bought up and auctioed off or closed or...

    So What's Disney's Big Gain from MyMagic+?

I got ahead of myself reading this and thought: Well kids asleep....CM should be along shortly to deliver her back to the room for the night while Mom and I ride more rides. This Magic Band thing is really cool!!!!

I have a complicated problem I hope someone has a suggestion for:

Let's see if I can explain this. I have two 2-Day park tickets that my wife and I bought last year (so we could get free dining). Usually we roll these in to the purchase of an AP the next year (which was our intent this year). However this year I bought three 2-day tickets (my wife, me and...

I've been selected to Beta test the FastPass + and I have a question

If we do test this for them can we also use the regular fast passes o are we stuck only using their 3 per day reserve FP+? We are going to have APs that we will buy on arrival and we have purchased 2 tickets for our 14 day trip so we can do free dining (that we weren't going to use but rather...

So are regular Fast Passes gone now?

Are we just doing FP +? How do you make FP+ reservations if you are going to buy an AP when you get to the park?

    APs and the NextGen questions

Hi guys, So we leave in 5 weeks for Disney and will be buying APs when we get there but I have some questions: Do we get a Magic Band with APs purchased in park? Also, how does Fast Pass work these days? When we arrive for our 2 week trip on September 25th will we still be using FP the way...

    Star Wars Land

I think that maybe you think you are in the majority because of your group of friends but the fact is Star Wars is wildly popular and has been for 36 years. The FX in the movies actually hold up extremely well and are not cheesy at all. Plus, you have to look at it from a whole...not just the...

I know it's been said but the pixie dust is going away fast for me.

We go every year and will for the forseeablefuture as we have a 3 year old. She's a Disney nut like her Mom and Dad. But I have seen in the last decade how things have declined. It's not the little stuff either like chips of paint or broken lights. It's the big stuff like the night time...

I know it's been said but the pixie dust is going away fast for me.

To be honest Disney is starting to lose a lot of it's charm and pixie dust for me. I hate typing that out but they are rapidly evolving into just another business following the business model of make as much cash as possible as quickly as possible. Strip it all down, if it doesn't turn a...

Spirited News, Observations & Thoughts IV

Sadly it's probably true. We are looking at this from the perspective of seasoned Disney war veterans who have mastered "combat". From what I can see our biggest gripe is the loss of FP and how useless this all seems. But your average guest won't be missing those FPs, they will see this as a...

Disney is going to scale back the Polynesian DVC plans in a big way.

One more thing: If maintenance and upkeep are the issue with the fountain and Disney can't seem to handle it then why can Embassey Suites have massive waterfalls and fountains and streams in all of their lobbies? Why can a hotel chain handle a water fountain but Walt Disney World can not?

Disney is going to scale back the Polynesian DVC plans in a big way.

What I don't get is this: Disney wants to remove the water feature in the Polynesian lobby. The same as they did with most of the water features throughout the parks (20KLincluded). Probably put more potted plants there. But here's the kicker: They give Disney Springs the go ahead. ?!

Spirited News, Observations & Thoughts IV

Can someone please explain to me what exactly Next Gen is? I get the basics of it but what were we suppossed to be getting out of this project and what are we actually getting? It certainly wasn't just fancy lines with electronic gizmos and the ability to fast pass taking a leak.

Tile, eh Dan. We'll I think I can top that. What say you to a planter? One of those nice clay numbers where cactuses can grow out of the sides? I like your thinking, Bob! Team! Bob is an innovator I think we have senior managaement material on our hands here.

Everything you said is true for me as well. This saddens me a great deal and without the fountain I don't think I'll ever stay at the Poly.

Oh, well that's for the best. People seem to like generic. You know what would be great instead of that fountain? Tile.
