the obnoxious thing that you have that reminds you of disney?

We have been to WDW 10 times since 1997. From every trip, I have park and property maps, receipts from every meal and souvenir purchase, copies of hotel bills, hotel keys/tickets, napkins from various restaurants, etc. Basically, I have kept virtualy every piece of paper that one can...

Is WDW running out of space?

I love the idea of three more parks, but I certainly agree that the current parks need some upgrades at this time.

your favorite little known things to do in WDW

Favorite little thing to do: when walking from YC/BC to Epcot Int'l Gateway (or vice versa), I always take the walking path that goes under the bridge to the Boardwalk. This path is rarely used and there is usually some very relaxing Japanese music playing in the background. This is my...

What makes you misty-eyed at WDW?

I will inevitably tear up at some point during Illuminations, Legend of the Lion King and The Little Mermaid show.

    A question for resort guests

We use own car for two things: (a) resort to resort transportation, since there are no direct buses for such thing; and (b) when staying at the Yacht Club, to go to Animal Kingdom (that bus ride just seems to take so long, that I prefer to drive myslef).

    Would you go by yourself???

I don't know if I would go for an extended trip on my own, but I am always on the lookout for seminars and business opportunities in the Orlando area which I could then parlay into a day or two there on my own. It would be a blast, I am sure!

Can't book trip online for 2005

May not be available on the web, but you can certainly book now (without using a travel agent) by calling Disney directly. Just this week I booked our trip for Feb 2005.

    Weather in Dec/Jan/Feb?

We usually go in February. Earlier in the month, highs are upper 60s - low 70s, with lows in the upper 40s - 50s. Later in the month, it has more consistently in the middle to upper 70's, with lows more consistently in the 50s. None of these temperatures will be "too cold for a baby" so...

Using WDW AP at other resorts

Probably not, but I don't know for sure.

Staying on Disney & using facilities of all resorts

DVC members can use the pools at all the other DVC resorts (except, I think, Stormalong Bay at YC/BC, because that gets so crowded). They don't check IDs when you get off the bus, but they do check IDs at many of the Deluxe resort pools (especially Stormalong Bay) to make sure that only...

Crossing over from Value to Reg season

The rate for the first night of your trip is the rate you will pay for the entire stay, even if there is some crossover into a different rate season. We took advantage of this during a recent trip in Feb. The day we were planning to go to WDW was the first day of peak season. When I figured...

    favorite hotel lounge

AKL lounge (Victoria Falls) is very cool, as it looks out over Boma and (I think) the pool at AKL. I also like the Crew's Cup in the Yacht Club for its wide selection of beers, clubby atmosphere and the fact that it rarely gets too crowded.

    Disney Visa rewards

I ordered the Reward card several months before our Feb 2004 trip and then, through the credit card web site, transferred dollars to it periodically over time. Did the last transfer just before we went to WDW. Had $400 on the card when we went and used it to pay for several dinners until the...

Need to decide where to eat

I second (or third or whatever) the recommendations for Jiko (best restaurant on property, in my opinion) and Artist Point. Two other high end restaurants that I have not seen mentioned yet, but which are both wonderful, are Citricos and Yachtsman Steakhouse.

    Worst meal on Disney property?

If the food isn't any good, why would small portions be a problem?

Actual Opening Times vs. Stated Opening Times

When we were at WDW in mid-Feb, on non-early open days, they started letting people through the turnstiles about 8:30, but did not let people go through the tunnel under the railroad track. About 8:45, they would do a little show where the train would pull in full of characters. There was some...

    Yacht/Beach area dining

Here are some of our favorites in the YC/BC area (which includes the Boardwalk and Swan/Dolphin): Nice (but expensive) dinner: Yachtsman Steakhouse Good fish place: Flying Fish Good sit down lunch spot: Big River Brewery Italian: Palio I've also heard Blue Zoo at the S or D (can't...

    The feeling of leaveing!!

We were at WDW for a week in mid-February. On our last night, as we were leaving Epcot to walk back to YC and leave WDW, we were all very sad. We walked through the turnstiles at Int'l Gateway and my 10 year old started to cry. I asked her about it and she said, "I hear other people talking...

    Just One Thing: EPCOT

    1. Test Track 2. Bistro de Paris 3. New Epcot hat 4. Tapestry of Nations (the original, from the Millenium Celebration with the Sage of Time, and not any of the modified versions which followed). 5. Walk from the Yacht Club

    Alot Missed At Epcot??

I love World Showcase - it is my favorite part of any park at WDW. That being said, I have never understood the popularity of Malestrom. Don't get me wrong - I like going on the ride, but I just don't understand how it became this destination, Fast Pass designated ride. Oh, well, to each...
