Yacht/Beach area dining

Hi all, question here - can you guys give me some recommendations for dining in the Yacht/Beach Club area? I know what restaurants are over there but since I haven't stayed around those hotels in a long time I was just wondering which ones some more experienced diners of those places liked best, and which to stay away from.

Also, any general recommendations for dining are welcome - I've eaten at a million places in the World but heaven knows there are so many to choose from!

Thx!

We had the Seafood Buffet in the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club and enjoyed it. We also ate at the ESPN Zone...again very good.

Here are some of our favorites in the YC/BC area (which includes the Boardwalk and Swan/Dolphin):

Nice (but expensive) dinner: Yachtsman Steakhouse
Good fish place: Flying Fish
Good sit down lunch spot: Big River Brewery
Italian: Palio

I've also heard Blue Zoo at the S or D (can't remember which) is supposed to be very good, but have never been there.

You definitely have to eat at the Yachtsman Steakhouse at least once. The ESPN Club is fun. Cape May Cafe is a great dinner if you like fish; if not, try the character breakfast there in the morning (that's at the Beach Club). I've heard that Shula's at the Dolphin is good, but I've never been. Definitely get ice cream at Beaches and Cream!!!

Beaches N Cream is awesome for good old fashioned malts and burgers. If you have a large party, get the Kitchen Sink for dessert! :sohappy: The Character breakfast buffet at Cape May Cafe ranks ahead of Chef Mickeys, IMHO, and I highly recommend it.

Again, the ESPN Zone is good, and while I haven't eaten there myself, I've heard good things about the Yachtman's Steakhouse.

Beaches and Cream is super fun, as is ESPN Club at BoardWalk--best buffalo wings in the biggest bucket ever!

Blue Zoo, which was mentioned, is located at the Dolphin and tho Ive never been, it looks good from the outside and have heard good things about it.

I don't think out of all the restaurants in this area that there is really a dud. Enjoy!

SPOODLES!

It's at boardwalk, features mediteranian/italian food. Great tapas, pastas, and flatbreads (fancy pizza). Makes a great spot for dinner.

I would second flying fish for seafood. It's got a really upbeat atmosphere and great foor. Good experience all around.

But if you want a REALLY good upscale Italian experience, head for Palio's at the Swan. My wife and I ate there for the first time back in November. It was just amazing.

I would highly recommend Yachtsman, Spoodles, and ESPN. ESPN DOES have the wings (EVER) and they are quite plentiful! Spoodles has a changing menu, so every time we've been there the menus has been slightly different- but always most excellent. Makes me wish that I was going to be down there for dinner- guess our leftovers will have to do for tonight and until we can get back down there (in Dec).

Also, keep in mind that when you're in the Yacht/Beach Club area, you're just a quick walk over to EPCOT... and eating your way around the world!

ENJOY!!

IMO, best sushi around is at the Swan (Kimonos)-has kareoke bar too!!! Very fun and excellent sushi.

Spoodles-excellet

ESPN-for less fancy foods

The brewery at the Boardwalk though good food, the smell might be too much for some to take. (hops and all)...it took us a while to get use to it...kinda made us loose our appetite...so you may want to consider eating outside.

Yachtsman's steakhouse - excellent

and of course....world showcase at Epcot.
