Which moderate resort to stay at?

French Quarter Riverside is nice, but spread out (thus requiring a lot of walking to and from the main lobby area, and the bus stop). French Quarter is more compact, is just as nice (if not nicer) and is first on the PO bus route. French Quarter riders are first to be picked up and first to be...

Rank the Resorts according to Value

Good value Top of the list is Port Orleans French Quarter, followed by Caribbean Beach and PO Riverside. Coronado Springs is next, followed by Yacht Club and Contemporary.

How many times have you stayed at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel?

Disney stays First trip was in 1983, stayed at Royal Plaza. Have been to WDW about once a year since. Stayed at Royal Plaza a couple of times, and at two off-property motels. Have stayed on-property (once each) at Yacht Club, Contemporary, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans Riverside and Carribbean...

    Anyone been to Ohana?......

Liberty Tree and Crystal Palace Have been to both Liberty Tree and Crystal Palace. Liberty Tree does a great character dinner, with lots of good food and frequent character visits. It's a sit-down dinner, which is nice. Crystal Palace does a great buffet, with some really quality food and...

MK 2/18 - TTA Evac (my first!) Pics + few HM updates

Ride evacs I have been evac'ed twice, over the years, from the Universe of Energy and from Test Track. When Test Track stopped, we were stuck inside the "corrosion test" room. Fortunately, the sprayers shut down immediately. We sat for 15 minutes or so before a CM came to get us. :)

    Christmas Trip

Christmas crowds The week between Christmas and New Year's is insanely crowded, but there are so many special shows going on, and the Christmas decorations are so great, going during this time is definitely worth it. Just go expecting the crowds and plan to be patient.:xmas:

    over budget in dining

Meals I would skip the San Angel Inn and the Coral Reef. I would switch Le Cellier to dinner, rather than lunch. Skip the Brown Derby, too. It's not worth what you pay for it. Our favorites are Nine Dragons, Le Chefs De France, the Rose and Crown and Alfredo's, all in Epcot.:slurp:

Which week in December is best?

Early December The earlier the better in December. The crowds aren't bad, all the parks are decked out for Christmas and all the holiday activities (Very Merry Christmas Party, Candlelight Processional, etc.) are going on. Have fun!:xmas:

Which Character Meals are a must?

Character Meals Chef Mickey's for breakfast is a must. Characters are everywhere (Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale come to the table, Goofy stays in the lobby) and the food is plentiful and not bad. Liberty Tree Tavern serves a great meal (turkey, roast beef and ham) in a great atmosphere. Minnie...

    crowds in july

Summer at WDW During the summer the parks are pretty crowded. Be prepared for the almost daily thunderstorm and the almost unrelenting humidity. Plan to spend time at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. Go early and stay late. Spend the middle of the day in the pool.;)

    Magical Express

Travel magic We used Magical Express last May. There were five of us, with a bunch of luggage. Nothing was lost, although we had a long wait in the airport, with three sweet but fidgety kids (and two fidgety adults). We will use the service again when we return Nov. 23, 2006.

Is the planning half the fun?

Love to plan We have been to WDW so many times and have planned so many trips our travel agent friend calls us for suggestions to give her other clients. We love to plan, make early dining reservations, make golf tee times, etc., all leading up to the big day. We are presently planning our trip...

what to do when we get there? suggestions please

Hit the ground running We always drop off our luggage and head for one of the parks. We've stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter so many times we know the layout by heart. We don't want to waste a minute of our visit. Can't wait until we go back Nov. 23, 2006.

    travel agent vs. booking online

Agent or self? My wife and I have booked WDW trips both ways, through travel agents or ourselves on the Web site. The Web site is easy and quick, but it is easier to let the travel agent do the work. We've never saved much money using travel agents.

    Caribbean Beach Resort

CBR is great My wife and I stayed at CBR a couple of years ago. We normally stay at Port Orleans French Quarter, but it was closed at the time. We thoroughly enjoyed CBR and will likely stay there again.
