    No cheese sauce, again.

They got rid of the cheese because some Swiss-for-brains guest got burned. No, Swiss was not my first choice of word.

Monorail Yellow Evacuation - Bus entrance to MK closed...detouring now (somewhere)

This has more truth to it than you might think. I know for a fact that head chefs at Disney get large bonuses based on the amount they save on food. I'm certain the same thing applies to all departments. This is the root cause of all of the maintenance and service issues property wide. The...

Monorail Yellow Evacuation - Bus entrance to MK closed...detouring now (somewhere)

Please don't take this post as an advertisement, because it's not. If you ever encounter a massive wait for transportation out of the MK, consider walking over to the Contemporary. Once you are there you can take a taxi, a Disney bus to another park, or you can use a ridesharing provider. If you...

Monorail Yellow Evacuation - Bus entrance to MK closed...detouring now (somewhere)

I can confirm traffic from the Poly all the way around the back of the MK is gridlock. People with ADR's are not happy. I had to cancel a request because I could not guarantee that I could take someone from the GF to the Contemporary in time to make their reservation. It's a mess.

Please let me know how the traffic is once you get to the bus area.

Monorail Yellow Evacuation - Bus entrance to MK closed...detouring now (somewhere)

World Drive is blocked at Seven Seas Drive. All traffic is being routed to Seven Seas Drive. MK monorails are down. Epcot monorail is working. I tried to take a guest from the GF to the Contemporary and couldn't. I had to go back to the TTC so they could take bus or ferry. Also, there is a fire...

    Uber

If you use Uber to get picked up from a theme park the best thing to do is go to where the taxis are and make your request there. If you do this you will make sure your pin represents where you actually are, and that a driver can get to you. If you make a request while you are still in a park it...

    Uber

When you give a driver a 1 star rating the app will prevent you from ever getting that driver again. The same goes for riders. If the driver gives you a 1 star rating the app will prevent the driver from getting that rider again. If you give all of your drivers a 1 star rating you will...

    Uber

There is so much I can say to this, but I'm not going to derail this thread even more. I appreciate your response, however misguided it may be.

I disagree, but I do understand your opinion. "Tip free" is not correct. That is not what Uber says. Riders assume that. When Uber came to Orlando they said the tip was included. That was when they charged $1.50/mile. They backed off of that once they lowered their rates. The fact that they...

    Uber

I said that riders CAN tip if they want. I have never said anywhere that a tip is expected. I'm glad that Uber drivers in NOLA can make respectable money. In Orlando, this is not the case. The mileage rate here is 75 cents per mile. Uber sends out a weekly summary that shows how you compare...

Exactly. My post is satire supporting your viewpoint.

Big changes coming to Annual Passes

I talked to a CM who works in the AP department. He gave me some inside information that I thought I should share. All of the new passes will have a variation of this design. The passes will be made from the dried tears and crushed dreams of children whose parents can no longer afford to...

    Uber

Uber has raised the "Safe Rides Fee". The old fee was $1. The new fee is $1.85. Uber has made this change in some other cities, although the amount of the increase is not the same. This money goes straight to Uber. The driver never sees any of it. The Safe Rides Fee is allegedly money Uber uses...

    Uber

This is a great point. Riders don't have to rate drivers, but drivers must rate riders in order to end the trip and accept the next ride. I have never rated any rider less than 5 stars. Never. Unfortunately, other drivers have started giving a 1 star rating to riders who won't tip. This is...

Yes, it will be possible. It might happen very soon. A nationwide strike is planned for the weekend of October 16-18. One of the demands is for Uber to add a tip button. Lyft already does this. The strike is rapidly gaining support and media attention, so you might hear about it soon. I'm not...

    Uber

For what it's worth, I know why Uber charges such low rates, and it's not just to save you money. Uber takes a percentage of the fare, which is how they make money. If the fare was higher their percentage would be higher. They will claim that lower fares keeps the drivers busier. This is only...

    Uber

The Grand Floridian is one of the hotels farthest away from Universal, so let's use that as an example. Google says the distance is 14.5 miles and the travel time is 17 minutes. Using the formula above, that means the approximate Uber one-way fare is $15.09.
