Fantasmic - do you need to make a reservation?

We did the Fantasmic dinner combo at the Brown Derby. It was a very nice meal, and you do not have to wait in line to see Fantasmic. Some have complained that the reserved seats are to the right of center seating, but I think that the lack of having to wait in line for over an hour was well...

    Why does everyone dislike AK?

Up to this last visit (December), I had not enjoyed the Animal Kingdom very much. It had always been hotter than other parks, I think the vegetation held in the heat, a "rainforest type thing", I guess. However, it was nice and cool when we were there and we were determined to make the most of...

WDW with a 3MO Old? (AKA What Have We Gotten Ouselves Into?)

Sigsegv, I'm glad you took my comments as the thought they were intended, not as mean spirited. I just think DisneyWorld is a lot of work as a vacation, and having an infant just multiplies the work. Personally, thinking back to when my kids were only a few months old, we were just getting...

WDW with a 3MO Old? (AKA What Have We Gotten Ouselves Into?)

C'mon, your baby did not experience any Disney Magic at 9 weeks old! Perhaps you did, but not the baby. I just got back from WDW, and I was keenly aware of all the coughing, sneezing, and nose wiping that was going on from all the cold weather vacationer's from the north. I was concerned...

    Fantasmic Dinner Package

I think this basically comes down to two things. Do you want to wait in line for over an hour for the show, and are you willing to pay the dinner price. We just did the Fantasmic package with Brown Derby, and it was the best meal we had in the parks, excluding the resorts. You choose from...

WDW with a 3MO Old? (AKA What Have We Gotten Ouselves Into?)

I think back to the section in the Unofficial Guide to WDW where the author tells parents thinking of taking infants to WDW to think of who this vacation will benefit. We are the parents of grown children ages 20 & 18. Both have been to WDW numerous times, but never before the age of 10. We...

    Sort of a Trip Report

Captain, I guess that you could read some negativity into my report, but I was trying to make others aware of some concerns we had with this trip. We felt the Grand Floridian people were somewhat distant, snooty, if you will. Our last trip in August 2001, our stay at Boardwalk was delightful...

    Sort of a Trip Report

We just got back from a 10 day stay at WDW yesterday 12-13-02. I wanted to give some thoughts, but not a blow by blow trip report. Hope that is ok with you all. We stayed at the Grand Floridian. We were very impressed with the hotel, and the decorations are great. They have live holiday...

    Grand Floridian questions

Well, that would bite. I've wanted to stay at Boardwalk, but wife insists on GF, due to it's flagship status. From reading the post before yours, I wonder how many buildings this joint has? Which is good, which is bad? :hammer: I don't want to be stuck out in the north 40 away from...

    Grand Floridian questions

Orangefan, I will be looking for you in the orange at Floridian, as you instructed..:animwink: This is our first stay at GF, and we are very confused with the room situation. We stayed at the Boardwalk garden suites last year. The suite was a cool thing, and we basically got upgraded to...

    lunch at Magic Kingdom

I have to go with the Plaza Restaurant also. It is a nice sit down atmosphere, with friendly servers. It is just off main street to the right as you head to Tomorrowland. So much of the Magic Kingdom food is bad chicken finger type food, this is a great change of pace. The food is sandwich...

    Mvmcp

I am mystified about all the discussion about the free treats at MVMCP. This will be the first time we have been there in December. But for the life of me, I can't understand the fuss about a cup of hot chocolate and a couple of cookies. I couldn't even fathom standing in line for this...

    MGM or AK ???

MGM would have my vote. Everytime we go, we say we are going to devote more time to AK, but we only seem to be able to spend about 1/2 day there. If you go in hot weather, this park really holds the heat. Although Dinosaur is very cool.

    Pin Traders

I found it a fun thing to do at the parks since we spend extended times at WDW. I just buy the one's I like. I don't trade, just like to have the ones I took time to search for and buy. If you sit back and think about the $$ it does seem a crazy thing for adults to do.

    Extended Stay

Either the above recommendation, or if you can swing it, stay at the nicest resort you can afford. Although during short stays, you may not spend much time in the room, an extended stay will find you in the room more often. You might explore suites, such as Boardwalk garden suites, as they...
