  • There was so much at Boma that I couldn't pick a favorite, but dessert was great. My advice is to make multiple trips to the buffett and try one of everything (what I did). It took me three or four plates, but when I got done I felt like a much more cultured person!

I'm not in D23, though I considered joining. A lot of the fun seems to take place at the meet-ups/events, but I simply live too far away to participate in those. It seems like a lot of fun (and some very decent magazines) but I can't justify the purchase of the membership. That said, it definitely appeals to a lot of people, and I think you may like it, as the magazines you get from it really are stellar. However, with upcoming home improvement projects, vacations, and a new car (albeit used, from a relative), I really don't want to be spending unless it's an absolute necessity.
CRap I don't think I wrote back to your last email LOL sorry! I'm not actually staying long if you think about it...fly down Sunday, Mon - Fri in parks, fly home Saturday OR I may just do half a day in the park Friday and save myself a night and fly Friday night..but I doubt it LOL

No interest really in going to Universal. I'm the kinda gal that gets where she is going and doesn't alter her WDW schedule at all! Kind of sad but I like what I do when I get there so don't want any differentiations (ohhh long word - hope it's real LOL) -

Looks like we may be in for another bout of poopy weather come Sunday/Monday...or maybe it's Monday/Tuesdsay....all I know is it's coming!
I thought the same with the Christmas Carol. Though we never watched the Muppet Christmas Carol this season...so I guess I'll watch it this weekend LOL.

The best thing about the Kindle IMO is the screen, or lack thereof. It's so easy to read, and you can buy a leather holding case accessory with a built-in light, which is very convenient.

One of our friends (in their 60's) visits WDW every year with her girlfriends from gradeschool. From what she's told us, she's had an absolutely marvelous time.

Giving up Whispering Canyon for Boma would definitely be a trade-up. I haven't eaten at Whispering Canyon, but Boma is still one of the best spots on property, even if it has slipped a tad lately.
Nah she probably won't change her mind. She'd rather stay with Aunt Sandy LOL I'm going to be fine! I am actually 95% sure at this point about going solo..and I'm starting to get psyched so that pretty much tells me it's a GO! LOL And you are right...I plan on taking it slow and doing all the stuff she doesn't want to do when we are there together so this will be golden! ha ha!

I actually looked at the Contemporary but for $300 or $400 something a night...NOT! I'm just sleeping! LOL Art of Animation I think will be awesome! I hear the Nemo section is supposed to be spectacular!!!
That's great news for your kids! I guess they were pretty happy about that, even if it did turn to ice. You guys get four days built in? Here in Jersey we only get three! They're still pretty upset about the snow situation up here, too.

I think the Kindle has a feature where you can bookmark or annotate certain pages, but I'm not totally certain. I never thought about putting WDW books onthere! On my iPad, I downloaded a few free classics like A Christmas Carol or Legend of Sleepy Hollow, which I need to set time aside to read. But the Kindle has a great battery life. The iPad is good, but not no-charge-for-three-weeks good. :D

I've neverbeen by myself, though I've been in the parks by myself, though I'd go solo in a heartbeat. Of course, you're missing a lot if you don't go with family, but you gain a lot of freedom, too.
How many more snow days did you get? The schools in our area have been cancelled for a total of three days (including today, not because of snow, but because of snow which turned into freezing rain, which turned into rain, which in turn melted and caused the roads to be TERRIBLE.) Have your kids built snow forts and such?

The Karamel shoppe is sure to be delicious...I hope they hand out free samples! The Earl of Sandwich is sounding even more tantalizing now. Can you make your own sandwich or can you only order what's on the menu?
Like I said a bit "scared" about going solo but a girl I work with, her hubby and 2 boys will be there the same week and said I could tag along - which I won't do because you know, their family time. But we did agree if I go, we'll do a few meals together so all is good!

Got a GREAT price quoted to me from Small World. 6 Nights, 7 days lodging....5 day base tickets AND QS dining plan for $1200!!!!!!!!! AT Port Orleans French Qtr - GREAT pricing! I may snatch that baby up. I'm thinking on it and will make up my mind by the end of the month for sure!

I pray for a wonderful 2011 for you and your family, and my family and friends! Let the good times begin! LOL
You'll laugh. She does NOT want to go so I may be doing a solo trip that week in September. The more I think about it the more I'm like WTH why not! LOL 5 day base tickets, 6 nights at All Star Music with QS Dining is $953!!!!!!!!!! I can do that and that is a preferred room! LOL If I use that pin I actually do the same scenario at POFQ for about 1300 but I know I can get it lower before I go so now I'm in the decision decision mode! Personally I think it would be cool - a solo trip! I'm pretty much a talker to everyone so it's not like I'll be lonely or anything LOL

Yep 4 days! I couldn't believe it when I saw that - more power to them LOL
OH $1000 is quite a substantial difference. I couldn't go if I wanted to LOL I did find out that "supposedly" (mind you ha ha) Cobb County allocates or allows for 4 snows days a year (yea right like we've used that many in 5 years until now) soooo it looks like they "may" only have to make up 1 day...I'm sure once they get their ________ together, they will let us know LOL

MNSSHP is actually one of the big reasons I want to go then (besides lighter crowds..those are always good!) - we've never been at that time...and it's all Halloweeny and I want to go! LOL I actually called WDW last night to see if I have a PIN associated with the family address and I do! 10% but this one is different then the one i got via email. This one supposedly goes thru 12/2011 with NO blackouts! So for 7 nights at AS Music with 7 day base tickets for two...is $1200 - POFQ same scenario $1500--- those seem pretty good to me!
Hi Tomi! Thanks for you message on my page :) it didn't come weird in the slightest! Nice to know someone who knows, or in ur case a relation, with the name Tristan. I'm 18 at the moment :) And wow!, our birthdays are really close! Thanks for the message again :)

    Best Wishes and Dreams,
ha ha stop being a chicken and try the duck! LOL I actually love duck a la orange but duck is bony so i'm forewarning you LOL...

I went back to work yesterday - yikes! too much ice LOL And yes I am quite sure they will take away the week in February...OH I looked at the crowd levels for the week they get off in september (the 18th-24th) - I want to go THEN! 1's and 2's with the highest 3's out of 10's..that pretty much means nobody is there LOL plus it's all halloweeny and mickey's not so scarey party goes on....I mentioned it to linds and she's like "i don't know" - wahhhh what the freak is there not to know? LOL If I can sway her, we're going. Hell, I might go by myself - who knows! ha ha ha!
Hi there. Well I've never eaten at Beaches & Cream or Rose & Crown or the Kona Cafe. We did eat at the Grand Floridian Princess Dinner 2 years ago and it was great! Cali Grill was AWESOME as I've stated 500 times (lol), Flying Fish and LeCellier....I've never eaten there! Nor Starring Rolls Cafe, nor Via Napoli (my sister says the pizza is TO DIE FOR!), NOR chef mickeys'. We had dinner at Ohana's on Thanksgiving 2 years ago - loved it! Ok having never eaten at Leaning Palms nor Whispering Canyon. We were supposed to eat at Yak & Yeti for dinner but that never happened this past time around (wah!)...and the Plaza - have never eaten there! lol So darnit we HAVE to go back this year! We have SOOO many places we haven't eaten LOL Plus I want to do the Aloha Dinner and Show....Ok now I need to go cry LOL
Maybe I'm just hungry, but those restaurant choices sound delicious! We ate at the California Grill in '05 and loved it, and I've been assured it's just as good now. There's something for everyone, and the quality is great. I've heard great things about Le Cellier and Flying Fish, but haven't gotten a chance to go yet. Definitely top-notch from what I've read, though.

I've heard great things about Whispering Canyon Cafe, as it sounds really fun for a family. We're trying 'Ohana on our next trip, as it sounded really delicious. Never been at the Plaza, but the seating area on Main Street looks very pleasant. I can't give high enough marks for Via Napoli, and I've heard the Sand Trap is outstanding.

How is Earl of Sandwich? I've heard great things about it and would like to try it for myself.

All-in-all, I highly approve of your dining list! If I wasn't going with the rest of my family, it would be the exact list I would try! Sounds like you're in for some good eats.
I have the potential to go twice this year, but I doubt at this point the March trip will happen, for a variety of reasons. But we'll see! And thanks! I'll be sure to send you some pictures from France.

Whoah! Three days in a row? I hope the school schedule is built to handle these kinds of days! When was the last time you guys had any snow?
Yeah no snow day that I know of yet...they didn't do it last year when we couldn't get to work BUT only 5 people out of 200 made it in so maybeeeee???? I'll hope!

YES to the Karamel shoppe - YUMMY it was yummy and busy LOL You'll enjoy whatever you try in there. And the smell...awesome!

Cali Grill - you will LOVE it! Me and Linds split our $70 steak (LOL) but it melted in your mouth! We had the best server...the was awesome. And don't forget - if you get in there to eat to watch the fireworks from the 15th floor balcony!! I'm very excited for you. So where are your other new places? Maybe I've eaten there and can enlighten you or tell you what to look for!

    March isn't far from now!
Our next trip is planned for late August, and possibly early September. In early July or late June, I had plans to visit Italy with part of my extended family, but we may be going to Corsica now (off of the French coast) to visit family friends, and maybe, just maybe, a day in Disneyland Paris. Let's hope! Also, I don't remember if I told you but a family member of mine won four park hoppers to WDW a few months ago. If they plan on using them, we may use them towards our vacation (if possible), or there's a slight chance I may be going to WDW in early spring, but I doubt it at this point.
I'm pretty excited for the Contemporary...though I don't enjoy all of that modern design that much, just staying in the tower seems fun...and hopefully with a Magic Kingdom view *knock on wood*. Let's hope they have some good discounts! I have a yearning to stay at the Polynesian again, but I don't forsee us staying there anytime soon.

Ironically, we've stayed at concierge level due to cost...after a certain amount of time, you start to save money by not buying breakfast in the parks or at the hotel, plus it is pretty convenient. But not this time- that's a bit out of budget.

I definitely want to try Kona and Rose & Crown. I've heard very good things about each, but we'll see as we get closer!
Whoops...I accidentally posted this to my own profile:

One thing that bothers me is that no new rides have been added over the past few years, which is quite a big gap. At least the new Star Tours will be open by the time we go down there!

Whoa! Now that's proactive. I kind of want to do the same, LOL. 12 new places? That's incredible! Which ones? It's also great that your son is mature enough in taste to eat off of the adult menu, though I can see where that would be too much.

This trip, we're not doing concierge, but for a different reason. We always sleep in late at WDW (a guilty pleasure), and last year at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, we'd have to rush out of bed to get to the food! Good thing the Contemporary seems to have a nice in-and-out breakfast place, as well as other good restaurants. By the way, check out this blog...it's quite delectable!

Don't you just love it when you are wrong! LOL We knew around 7 last night school cancelled but I wasn't expecting 7 or 8"....only 3 or 4 LOL BUT the more the merrier they say! Linds and her buddy Savannah will be gearing up in a few hours to go out and play in it and make snowmen...I'm charging the camera...it's beautiful!

We can have a snow day but I still have to use PTO(paid time off) - they don't us freebies LOL
