  • As of right now I'm thinking of getting a pre-cooked meal for home. That way there will be leftovers and I won't have to cook everything from scratch, I'll just have to heat it up. I did that several years ago and it was really good.

Yeah, that's true about the tees. I think I'll just hold off getting them. I might pick up myself some in the meantime. Is there such a thing as too many Disney tees?
Gotta save something for Christmas!! Do you try to sneak and get her something from WDW that she wants for Christmas? I'm still debating on getting us all new tees for Christmas this year for our trip next year. I am getting us each a gift card and buying a tee isn't exactly like getting something small from the Dollar Tree, lol. So, I'll see how my shopping goes.

I will definitely keep you two in my thoughts and prayers while you're gone - smooth drive, nice weather, low crowds (hey, you can still hope!), yummy food and the most important a special time shared between mom and daughter!! I'm getting so anxious for you too!
Do you make the trip over one or two nights? The last two trips we did it in two so we could get to the parks earlier and make use of our tickets better. We also try to throw in some "downtime" to our trip. Last year we went to Chef Mickey's and then back to the hotel to swim. It was nice and easy. Then later on we went to HS.

I can't believe you're under two weeks now! Sounds like you're very organized already. I'm going to pray for great weather and crowds for you two!!
I'm feeling a bit better today. I think I really needed to get some good sleep. I've pretty much been a lazy butt for the last few days but that's also probably something I needed to do to start feeling better!

I looked at the touringplans.com and it looks pretty cool. Do you pay the $10 fee or did you just subscribe?

Time is going by fast! Good for you, though, huh? Have you started packing or gathering up stuff to take yet?

Speaking of time going fast I hope the next couple of weeks go by quickly for you so you and Lindsay can get to your big Thanksgiving vacation!!
LOVE EPCOT!..and yes..he is a troll who just went too far calling people names and putting them down..he showed his ignorance..
I totally fell in love with my Passporter last year. I knew I would buy one for each trip. I can't wait for it to come in!

I am under the weather. I've had a cough for 2 weeks now but Thurs. I started feeling terrible. I even called in sick to work today. If I'm not feeling better by Mon. I'll go to the dreaded dr.

I hate crowds, too! Do you have your touring plans all set now? I think we'll probably get up early next year, too. I liked getting out early. We have the kids take their showers at nite after getting back from the parks so we're not all having to get ready in the morning.
Do you get up early every day of your trip? When the kids were younger we leisurely got ready and then usually headed out by 11-11:30 and ate lunch right away. Last year we had breakfast reservations almost everyday so we were out early. I'm not sure what we'll do next year, yet, with the exception that we will NOT be doing a breakfast buffet every day!! We may do one or two but that's it. I actually can't remember what plans I was making because I haven't looked at them for so long. Mainly because I wanted to wait till my pre-ordered Passporter book comes in (Dec.).
I wholeheartedly agree about the election being over. And, amazingly, there are no run-offs! Yay! I really loathe the mudslinging and (few) vague promises that are made.

Well, we can share our Disney dorkiness together, lmao! No strange looks or comments here cause I totally get it!!

Can you sleep the night before you leave?
Thanks for the tip about Publix/Kroger!! I'll definitely look into that as it gets closer. You're right about the leftovers. If we ate out then Lee wouldn't get anything at all.

I go over my Disney stuff over and over again as my trip gets closer, too! It adds to the anticipation and excitement!! You are going to have a terrific trip and Thanksgiving! What great memories Lindsay will have when she's grown!
I know, I love leftover turkey sandwiches! Especially on leftover rolls instead of bread. I might cook. Maybe I'll get the kids to help me.

Lee has to work since he works at the airport. They never close. If he happened to be off, which has happened in years past, but if not they have to work but they are well rewarded with holiday pay. And with Christmas just around the corner.......

I've started some shopping. I just ordered Disney gift cards for the kids for our trip next year (and made them from Santa and Mickey Mouse!) and t-shirts for my dad and his gf. I got my dad a tee that looks like he's in Buzz's spacesuit! It's so funny and cool at the same time.

I'm also going to get me and Lee Disney gift cards (he doesn't know) but I didn't have enough money to order all of them.
OH I know what you mean about Jack!!! There is one guy down there that is a dead ringer for Johnny Depp LOL I mean dead on...I have photos of him in our album - yummy is a word that comes to mind! LOL

I also read or heard about the HM themed rooms but I have no clue which resort will get them...wait, the new animation suites at POP maybe? I think so! Will have to research but I think that is where they are going....

Why does Lee have to work Thanksgiving?? How non American! LOL You could always just cook for you and the kids...that way when Lee gets home he could have a nice warm meal (albeit probably nuked ha ha!) and the kids will be good to visit with while watching corny Thanksgiving classics on TV and the bestest most importantist! (LMAO!) LEFTOVERS FOR TURKEY SANDWICHES - YUMYUM! LOL
Back in '07 we had our pictures taken with Jack Sparrow in Adventure Land! OMG, he looked so much like the "real" Jack I was quite flustered getting my photo taken with him! LMAO, you would've thought I was actually seeing Johnny Depp! The CM did an excellent job in his imitation.

I saw that they are going to make some Haunted Mansion themed rooms at one of the hotels. Naturally, I can't remember which one - Coronado Springs? That doesn't make sense to me, maybe it was at another hotel. Dang memory!

I'm glad you will have a great Thanksgiving - our will go like this - Lee had to work on that day and most likely I'll have to work Wed. and Fri. (Of course Fri. because it's "Black Friday"). So, I don't know what we'll do just yet. I'm considering eating out. What do you think? :veryconfu
That's so wonderful of you to bring back gifts! We have bought stuff for the kids' classmates and teachers (well, not Tristan since he started MS). We brought a Mickey pencil and Minnie pen for Sean's teacher last year and each year we've gotten chocolate coins w/ Disney characters on them for the kids' to hand out. I also bought my dad and his gf Mickey and Minnie ornaments for their birthdays last year. I loved the ornaments, too, they were so cool. They were the MM head decorated like Santa and Mrs. Claus!

I think it would be so awesome to do a whole tree in MM head ornaments! There are so many designs out there. I can't quite afford to buy all new ornaments though!

I only slept a couple of hours last night and it's starting to hit me. I was hoping to sleep in today but no such luck. Maybe I'll go to bed early (if I don't eat too much candy, that is!).
No, I haven't even asked if I can switch depts. I figured I should wait a bit.

Wow!! 21 days!! How exciting! Are you getting impatient yet? I get that way when it's a few weeks away. Just keep busy, that'll help.

I think it's good they found out about the terrorist stuff that way all the airports are on high alert now. Just make sure they get to the airport waaay early because security is being tightened up and that usually means a much longer wait at security.
I'm back. I feel like I never have time to do "my stuff"! I miss it too. But here I am finally!

I was glad to hear they didn't find anything major! My aunt has diverticutis. She has a LOT of things but she manages day to day. Anyway, I get my kids a wheat bread that has double fiber in it. It's by Nature's Own. The packaging has purple on it. The one thing the dr. told me though is that if you are eating a lot of fiber make sure you're drinking enough water or you'll get the opposite effect of what the fiber is supposed to be doing!

Sean's party was fun for him, exhausting for me! LOL, he had an xbox sleepover. But the kids did have fun so I'm glad he had a great birthday.

    How many days now?
That's sounds like a lot of fun! I guess Lindsay is too old for "kids sail free"? It stops at 10, right? I know Sean is considered an "adult" next year when we go. I take issue with that. I sent WDW an email suggesting they create a "Junior" section for kids 9-14 which the pricing for tickets and the dining plan fall between the "Child" and "Adult". Hmm, I haven't seen any changes yet though......

Your trip is getting soooo close now! I can't believe that it's nearing the end of Oct. Does Lindsay still go out for Halloween? Tristan is, which kind of surprised me, although I guess it shouldn't knowing his love of candy (much like mine!) and the fact I told him he's not allowed to raid Sean's candy bag LOL. Sean is going to Super Mario, which is funny to me, it's such a silly costume! Don't know what Tristan is going to be though.
I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, I have been working and trying to get stuff done for Sean's bday party this weekend. I also had the kids' conferences today. Thankfully they're both doing well and Tristan shocked me by telling me he wants to apply to a magnet HS. I was happy to hear he has a goal! So we'll see how this all works out, I won't be upset if he doesn't get in, I'm just glad he's showed interest.

I was happy to see that your brother made peace with his children. Now they can cross off some of the issues they had with him. I think for you, just remember the happy, fun times you had with your brother. Maybe you can say a prayer for him at WDW someplace that reminds you of him. Plus, he's still with you, even though in the end you hadn't spoken. Just focus on happy, that's what I bet he'd want you to anyway.
That's beyond okay! I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. You're sad because before all of his problems took over his life he was your little brother. You grew up together, you shared the beginning of your life together! Just because his actions forced you to to have to use tough love doesn't mean it made you care any less, you just couldn't allow his actions/drama/mess to play games in your life. I really think more people should do that - remember it's called enabling! I hope in the end he was able to make some kind of peace in his life and could see the damage he created within your family. Some people can never get quite that insightful, especially if there is another factor (drugs/alcohol). Thankfully, you have Lindsay. Maybe you can tell her about the little boy you knew growing up if you wanted to tell her anything at all. Take care....
    O. M. G. I print up all the menus of the places we're eating at too! I have a folder I keep with anything I need. I even go out and buy a "special folder" just for my Disney stuff!! LMAO! But I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.

I'll check my saved stuff and see if I still have the packing list and if I do I'll send it out to you sometime today.

Do you take your regular purse or something different into the parks? I have two very small bags that I put in just the essentials (including a brush and lipstick, lol, essentials!).

You're sister should have emailed you right away! Dang it, she knows you're going in a few weeks!
