Yes, this is possible. However the person to which you assigned the ticket may have to do it. An unused ticket can be reassigned either on the website or in the MDE app. Navigate to where you can see the tickets. A Reassign Ticket option should be available.
I don’t think the answer is knowable at this point since it hasn’t happened yet. There are several DVC resorts whose contracts expire in 2042, but as you say, resales continue unabated on those resorts. We’ll just have to wait and see.
It is absolutely easy to buy Genie+ day-by-day. IMO, it’s a waste of money for parks like Epcot. On a recent trip, on days we wanted Genie+, I got on my phone at 6:45 AM. It just takes a few minutes to buy. Then I’m ready when 7:00 AM rolls around.
The problem I see with your plan is that Disney does not allow you to choose the time of your Genie+ LLs. With ILLs you can choose your preferred time, but not with Genie+ LLs. It offers you a time. You can choose the time offered, or refresh to see if it offers you a different time. Maybe if...
My guess is that park reservations are here to stay, at least for a couple more years. If you go into the WDW page to make a park reservation, the calendar currently runs out into January 2024.
Your admission tickets are not “on” your magic band. Tickets are on your MDE account. Your magic band is just a window to your MDE account. So, yes, your old magic bands will work fine.
We used the new feature in the Creations Shop a couple weeks ago. It’s a fun idea but I’m not sure it saved us much time. The cast member painstakingly checked everything in our bag against the digital receipt. It would have been quicker if she had just checked us out. When buying just a few...
I wouldn’t spend anymore time on it. It’s trivial to buy Genie+ when you’re at WDW. On our recent trip, I would buy it about 6:45 AM. It only takes a minute to buy, then you’re ready to go at 7:00. Also, for your trip dates at the end of January, I would buy Genie+ only for MK and HS days.
Buying the Individual Lightning Lane for Remy will also save you some time and get you onto the ride quicker. We just got back from a week at WDW. We had two days planned at Epcot and got boarding groups both days. Even though we had boarding groups, we had a 30 to 45-minute wait each day.
