Does anyone have any idea when Disney will get rid of their park reservation system? Seems like they are they only ones now holding onto the system.

Its working in Disneys favor right now, controlling numbers coming in, allowing them to work with what they have for available staff, having somewhat control over the running of services. I think it will stay until staffing ramps up to the point that theres more dependable coverage for handling increasing guests numbers.

I don't think it is going anywhere unless the revamp genie+. The old fast pass system was kind of like a park reservation system and gave them a rough idea of how many people were going to be heading to the park on a given day. Once they did away with fast pass they would have no idea how many people were going to the park.

Based on formal statements by Disney, specifically Josh Demaro that the reservation system is here to stay and the fact that they’ve already extended reservations out to early 2024 it seems we should expect this is the new normal.
