Rested today. Docs orders after running for 500 miles straight, 9 days up and down a mountain. Tendonitis in right leg. On antibiotics just in case of cellulitis, which a couple other racers got. With my nutrition in place and muscle recovery spot on I only lost about 5-6 pounds, and no muscle...

Just under 30 miles. Lots of climbing, hand over hand, technical descents, trudging through mud and bushwhacking through pickers. No one will kick your for you ;-)

An ultra without mud or rocks is like that one family member you're embarrassed to be related to lol. But seriously, it has to have mud and rocks and heart pounding elevation and quad detroying descents ;-)

Took 7th place in 10:50 at Mt. Tammany: a 38-40 mile mountain run with a total of 12,000 ft of climbing on jagged rocks and a healthy amount of ice and snow. Lots of pain, ankle twists, and heart rate spiking climbs. With my finisher rock and freshly baked blueberry pie Tradition: push ups...

Training: scarffed down French toast and home fries then ran 33 miles immediately after. Gotta eat to run 500 miles straight ;-)

McNaughton 500 training: 2.5 hours of sleep in the last 58 hours now. Ran semi-technical trails in 20 degrees with a -4 degree wind chill. Started falling asleep on the trail and then popped some military grade awake gum. Felt like Sonic the Hedgehog, but couldn't find any gold coins. (and...

20 miles of speed work this morning in 4 degree temps. Technical trails and hills yesterday. Running 20-30 milers every/every other day. Super technical training race coming up in a couple of weeks. Only 40 miles but it beats up the legs and feet pretty good
