Good stuff on a Monday. That Atlanta Publix race is a lot of fun. This is my last Higdon training week from heck then I get to taper next week for the Athens half. Doing a 5K/10K combo this weekend. Cold weather coming back to Georgia. Going to be some more cold morning runs. Bleh.

I just got the chance to look up my results - I couldn't at school. I was 256th out of 647 female participants, I'm happy with that. Thanks for trying to check on my @joel_maxwell :)

I also found a pretty cool site as I tried to "claim" my results. It took me to athlinks.com which had almost all of the races I've run since 2010 and my finish times. I'd never seen that before. I didn't sign up for the site, but I think it's pretty neat that I could find a list like that.

Took 7th place in 10:50 at Mt. Tammany: a 38-40 mile mountain run with a total of 12,000 ft of climbing on jagged rocks and a healthy amount of ice and snow. Lots of pain, ankle twists, and heart rate spiking climbs.

With my finisher rock and freshly baked blueberry pie

Tradition: push ups at the finish with my fellow Animal Camp members. Barking included.

Coming off the mountain through the main visitor lot to the finish with another racer, Steve.

I belong to athlinks. It is really convenient to have all your results in one spot. I like being able to see how far I have come since I first started running!

@Donald Duck - pie is a very nice post race incentive. Makes me want to run 38-40 miles.

After a week off after my half I got back into my Hal Higdon Half training plan (I have another coming up in mid-May that I am looking to shave some time off of due to it being a slightly less challenging course)

Sunday - stretch and strengthen
Monday - 4 miles planned but I ran home so I could make dinner, easy 5 miles in 46 mins
Tuesday - 7x400 @5k pace 7 min/mile, done and done. First speed work in over 3 weeks and it was tough to get my legs moving that fast but somehow I pulled it out.

Getting excited. But lets not talk about it.

OK, we won't. ;) But we all wish you the best of luck and can't wait to hear all about it!

As for me, 5 miles on TM yesterday mixing up the paces. I think it's time to break out a new pair of running shoes. I've got about 575 miles on my current pair. I just hate to do it because I only have 2 pairs of my faves left, and Nike stopped making them.

Another 2 miles in the book, with a good lower body workout afterward at the gym. I'm getting frustrated with the running right now. I'm getting sore early in the run, and I can't seem to find my groove. I know part of it is that I was on a treadmill, but it's frustrating when I've done as many races as I have, and feel like stopping after the first mile or so on a treadmill.

Ran 29:54 in a 5K in Downtown Memphis that started and finished on Beale Street on March 22 for a Memphis-area charity that supports the Ronald McDonald House. I broke 30 minutes. Race started after rain cleared the downtown district but it was windy and in the 50s. Sweated, drank a lot of water, and the wind felt good as I crossed the 2-mile mark along the Mississippi River. Started out fast and averaged 9:37 a mile. Normally average over 10 or close to 11 a mile for the half marathon runs. I'll take it.

It'll happen. Just be patient.

I find that runs often feel harder on the TM simply because of the boredom factor. Could the pain you are feeling be because maybe you are changing your gait since a TM feels different than the road? Hang in there.

I hope you get your groove back!
