There are various problems from multiple heat sources across that state, from what I've read, etc. (As for the wind turbines, apparently they were not winterized, like they would be up in our area, so that was the issue with those.)

Today may not be such a bad day. I woke up and didn't have any issues with my boo boos knock wood and this popped up on the top of my youtube rec list Now if the snow would stay away

We freeze it all the time it's great for a quick meal-- pop it i the microwave and heat it up tastes as good as when you first make it

As a tip from one of your favorite Northerners (oh, not that you ever said that -- I just made that up!! ), it's good to start up your car each day, when it's in the deep freeze. This keeps the battery working properly.

When it's safe to drive (i.e., no ice on streets), take it out for a spin. (Best if you can get it out on a highway at higher speeds for a brief stretch -- as that's better than slower, local driving -- only during frigid times, for the battery.) I read about this tip years ago, so I'm just passing it along (at no charge! ) as you're not used to the deep freeze.

I have to modify that good advice by adding... If you are going to do that, which is good to keep everything lubricated, make sure you run it long enough to replace the stored electrical power in your battery. It takes a lot of energy to turn over a frigid car engine, if you don't replenish that power to the battery, the battery will not continue to be strong enough to start the car.

The ice missed us! It is mostly in the higher elevations. We flirted with 32 degrees for a short time. It’s 33 now. We had a heavy thunderstorm about an hour ago. Any icy conditions in our county are isolated right now. We still have some chances until tomorrow morning. Whew!!

Snowing here, again. Depending on when this started, we might be up to 11 days straight of measurable snow. At this point, I am almost cheering for the snow, to see how long this streak will last. Also, it isn't ice. Currently, feels like 12. Getting up to a warm 27.

We have snow and sleet. Even my dad didn't go into work; he's working from home. On the bright side, that might mean my mom will make us all lunch.

I’ve started it every day during this, at some point, and even made that BR on Tuesday...will probably make another later today...!!!!!

Yup freezes well. Sometimes we make 2 one to eat and one to freeze
