Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Guess you missed this worldwide study that was linked earlier that says lockdowns are not that much of a factor at all
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/eclinm/article/PIIS2589-5370(20)30208-X/fulltext
Did you read the study?

Quoted directly from the discussion section:

"Similarly, the number of days to any border closure was associated with the number of cases per million (RR=1.04; 95%CI: 1.01–1.08). This suggests that full lockdowns and early border closures may lessen the peak of transmission, and thus prevent health system overcapacity, which would facilitate increased recovery rates. "

Yes, of course, but also says in conclusion

However, in our analysis, full lockdowns and wide-spread COVID-19 testing were not associated with reductions in the number of critical cases or overall mortality.

Ahh the shifting goal posts. Just 3 weeks ago, in this very thread, I was being told Covid isn't a major issue because deaths were still only 30-40 per day. I was dismissed by some when I said deaths would quickly rise to over 100 per day.

Now the new goal posts are people who don't think 173 deaths are significant.

I hope you got enough trips out of them to break even. I always figure I need two trips to break even and anything over that I'm going for free.
Yes, I have seen people irate because they are not getting a fuill refund and have but to Disney 20+ days

not only that...but people WILL remember what you did during the pandemic. Whether its your friends going to a party or a big corporation keeping their theme parks open, people will remember.

Will they? I don't know. My faith in 80% of the populace has plummeted to the depths. The only way people will "remember" is if they themselves lose everything. And frankly, it's going to happen. This isn't sustainable. But don't tell them that because it's 'alarmist'.

it definitely depends on your region of living

My dad (who I realize is no expert) said it will affect all regions. He says a vaccine is way off, folks won't even want to uniformly BE vaccinated, and those companies still hanging on right now will have to pay the piper at some point. He says we'll look at 2020 as the good old days.

Per their testimony to Congress the other day, Astra-Zeneca may have their vaccine ready to go by late-autumn, early winter. But quantities will initially be extremely limited.

The other three companies reported that if all goes well (a big "if"), their products could be approved and available by mid-2021.

It will be interesting to see to also look at the actual date of deaths in the 173 reported. I expected it to go up and might a bit more this week.

Well, we've heard of promises from pharma, haven't we? I hope this is true but also, I hope a) people don't make it yet another ridiculous political talking point because they don't want it (let's just move them to a new COVID state somewhere), and b) the government finds a way to distribute it. It's really a situation where the wealthy won't be any safer if the plebs don't have access, too.

Its why many are saying more should be done to slow the spread. Maybe you have to start fining people for not following social distancing. Here it's almost $900 for not complying. People are listening. Masks are mandatory now. Its working here now that almost everything is open minus theme parks, movie theaters and casinos.
