EPCOT Brazil (and maybe others) Pavilion Coming to Epcot [not about Brazilian people nor a country wish list]

What in the Sam hell are you talking about here?

Self financing? That won’t happen

As opposed to sponsors or foreign entities. Like TSL or GE.

It is time for people to move beyond the notion WS is a place of great cultural influence and enlightenment.

Unleash Imagineering for some 'sketch on a napkin' ideas to a full-fledged new land. WS expansion pads are the perfect blank canvas.

Strictly my opinion of course.

Imagineering designed the Brazil Pavilion.

Fantastic. But it is still within parameters as requested by outside interests. I'm all for new pavilions but they never seen to make it past the concept/design phase.

Fictional lands (IE Atlantis for those not tracking) could be entirely in-house. I'm thinking something like Pandora on a smaller scale and strictly WDI designed.

But that’s why this doesn’t happen...the overhead is so high on Epcot that they will never abandon the model and accept all the costs to run new pavilions...and doing “world of Mickey” next to Germany would just be stupid.

It’s a prison of their own making

As they did the Spain, Australia, Russia, Israel and Greek pavilions...😉

It isn't tremendously enlightening. But it's "enlightening enough" to attract many people to WDW who consider fairy tale and superhero based attractions to be too frivolous to justify a vacation in Orlando.

My sister-in-law for example who teaches French in high school. She loves reading and international travel visiting cathedrals, castles, museums and stuff. Epcot with its faux France and fake Germany was the only WDW park she really enjoyed. There are a lot of people like that, who are embarrassed to tell their friends they went on a vacation mostly to see Mickey Mouse and Star Wars characters. But sipping wine and watching mimes and whatever is just their thing.

They have already added Frozen and Rat so anything is possible at this point. Like I said, traditional pavilions are great but never seem to happen. So a new direction seems like a reasonable solution.

Yeah...that’s not the way to go...but I think you know that.

Anyway...both those are repurposes to a degree...I can’t see them opening country ______ on a new pad solo...

But it’s just a hunch....backed by 32 years of history

And variety insulates the property from any general change in audience tastes...things ebb and flow but SOMETHING is always there as a draw

I'd like to think or still have some hope at least, that this hasn't been stashed up on a shelf in Imagineering just yet to collect dust, and maybe they are still hoping for a renewed interest?
Seems like a lot of work went into it to just not pursue it at all.

I think they should dust for the plans for the Russian pavilion / land / ride attraction and just forget about Brazil. They haven’t recovered financially since the Olympics 🤣😗😜

The countries don't sponsor the pavilions, organizations (mostly restaurants and mercantile) do. Just because Brazil is in turmoil doesn't mean there aren't giant companies doing just fine... and not in a good way.
