Getting kicked out of Disney for cutting in line...doubt it will ever happen!

We love Disney, we are annual passholders and DVC members, but this is the one thing at Disney that drives me insane. I honestly have no issues if you need to step out of line for restroom breaks, grab a drink, or whatever and then you step back in line. It's unfathomable to think you can wait in line in the Orlando heat for over an hour and not need to use the restroom or grab a drink, especially little ones.

My gripe is with those who "need to catch up with their family." My time and the time of my family is just as important as yours. If my family, my entire family, can stand in line together, then so can you. It may be rude, but I have reached the age and point where I just don't care if you don't like it or it makes you mad or whatever. I now stop them. I do everything I can to block them, my family of 4 will stand elbow to elbow. I tell them that their family is welcome to join them behind me, but they will not pass me. Most of the time it works, a few manage to get by. I hope one day that they get a cast member and try to explain why they are cutting line and then get kicked out of the park.

I had to write about this one. I just saw an article on MSN under the travel section titled "17 Things That Will Get You Kicked Out of Disney Parks". I cannot stop laughing about number 13 of 17 as copied in below. Oh the many times I have stood in lines while people walk through the line claiming a family member up front, someone holding their place, had to go to the bathroom, etc. I have seen some of the other 17 violated as well and never once did I see anything happen.

In any case, I say below is a total joke. Nobody watches. Nothing is enforced. This type of thing happens every day and I doubt anyone will ever get kicked out for it.

Cutting in line isn’t just rude and against society’s unspoken rules. It’s considered disruptive to other guests, and that behavior is against Disney policy. Cutting also includes a friend or family member holding a spot for you while you go to the bathroom, grab food, etc. If you get called out for cutting and cause a scene, a cast member could call security and have you escorted out. You’ll also get tossed out for trying to climb over fences and gates to sneak to the front.

But... if someone steps out of line to go to the bathroom, then they would have to go back to catch up with their family...

I had an entire family jump over to the FP line in front of me on ToT. The second screening thingees were covered so you didn't have to scan your magic bands.

This is actually a bigger issue than people "cutting in line". The second touchpoint is needed to ensure nobody switched over to the Fastpass line after passing the entrance, yet Disney chooses to not use them at many attractions.

I'm trying to remember which ride this happened on recently... I think it was N'avi. We were walking thru the long FP queue to enter, midway we saw 4 sour faced young ladies exiting from within. Made me wonder if they jumped a rope into the FP side only to be turned away at the 2nd FP tapstyle?

I agree, from what I have seen, a good chunk of the rides do not use the second touchpoint. Especially later in the day. I wonder how many people cut over? The risk of course is if the second one is working, now you have to leave.

I once was getting out of the "studio" in RnRC and the preshow must have taken longer than normal, as the queue was pretty empty as we were coming up the alley. A woman and her daughter were cutting over from the single rider line to the regular line. The CM was looking but didn't say anything so my wife said something. The woman was getting huffy saying "fine, we will go back since it's important to you. It doesn't matter though" and my wife was telling her it does make a difference and you know it. Also had some people just cut over and follow us up the FP line on Kali, and when asked to show a FP said they didn't have it and just walked past the CM. Nothing happened.

And that is the issue, if the CM can't/wont to do anything, there is no consequence to those who act that way and they will keep doing it. Like the people who stand at the FP entrance making a scene because their band isn't working and the line is building up, they refuse to move over, so the CM has to made a decision, and it usually is just letting them in. People know this and take advantage.

I was at HS a couple of weeks ago. We were walking up to Slinky Dog Dash FP entrance with the Standby entrance to our right along the fencing as usual. We were behind 4 people who went straight up to FP and then realized they were attempting to enter the wrong line. Instead of getting at the end of the Standby line, they merely shuffled over into Standby line past a CM. We told the CM at the Fast Pass these people just cut and the people in the Standby line were screaming. The CM at the Fast Pass entrance told us it was out of her control and the other CM just let it go. Could not believe nobody made them get out of line!

Let me make sure I understand this. So when I get in the 2 hour standby line for FoP, I don't have to use the bathroom. But after waiting for any hour, I really need to. And if I leave, I'm considered cutting in line when I return and am subject to removal from the park if a CM spots me? I usually tell the people standing behind us that I'm leaving to use the bathroom. I try to remember to tell the CM at the entrance. But Disney would rather I remain in line and pee in my pants? That explains why parents let their kids pee in line....

Or maybe when you leave to use the restroom, the CM at the entrance can hand you the Disney version of the bathroom hall pass.

I think its valid go before you get in line, its not fair to let people wander in and out of line for snack and restroom breaks. I wish Disney had a number like Six Flags does where when people cut you can text their description and when the get to a cast member they get thrown out of line, I think throwing them out of the whole park is a little harsh, just make them go to the back of the line they attempted to cut. They also need to enforce all members of your party need to line up together, just because Dad is in line does not mean mom, granny, aunt Susan and all 19 kids are.

And the company would back the guest more than you unless the guest did something really bad to the CM. What would you do? I doubt they would get security involved at all. They may have the rules, but a lot of it is on the honor system.

Yes, but do you not look at people as you are standing in line? If someone were to walk past you, going the wrong way, in the standby line, surely you would at least recognize that face as they passed you a second time.

I vaguely recall seeing signs at the entrance of the queue for Flights of Passage to the effect that there are no restrooms in the queue, so go before you join (I can't remember the exact wording).

Also, on my last trip, one member of the party behind us in the queue for Peter Pan ducked out of the queue, and we assumed that they'd decided they didn't want to ride anymore and went off to do something else. However, this individual later reappeared, waiting to join their party again at a point just before the standby queue merges with the Fast Pass queue. Presumably, they'd dashed off for a quick comfort break and rather than attempting to charge their way through the line to rejoin their party, they decided to wait at a suitable location for their party to catch up with them.

One unappetizing thing a few years ago I encountered was at the Toy Story interior queue line at DHS was a guy went and disappeared behind the area of talking Mr Potato Head to conduct bathroom business and reappear shortly back in line.

Needing the bathroom is not a big deal. I can never be angry with kids for this, adults either. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go. Most people are ok with this. It is the blatant jumpers I and most others have issue with. And there will be times I won't let them by.

I know this isn't the point of this thread, but seriously, does anyone actually make $10 an hour anymore? Minimum wage is around $15-18, correct? Not that $18 is fantastic. Just clarifying, no one works for $10 an hour?
