@MinnieM123 , btw, I slow down on curves. The speed I quoted for you is on the straight sections of the multi lane highways....which I-81 had a large percentage that was straight ahead easy driving!No....it was a sunny & dry day...on a multi lane highway. 75mph to 80mph is what 40 to 45% of the drivers were also doing. I'm far from alone in traveling at that speed. There were a few idiots that wanted to go 85 to 90mph and they actually passed me.

Forgive me while I vent a little.
What a horrible weekend... (week really) Hubby's back and developed new issues and he has to get an MRI and xrays... only we are still waiting for the hospital to call with a time... it's usually super quick... so I'm not sure what's taking so long. Gotta call today and find out.
Saturday our electric decided to die in the whole upstairs and part of my kitchen downstairs. (basically one circuit) So we have been without power part of the weekend... the two saving graces are the heat and appliances are on different circuits, and our internet is out because of this, so luckily... the one thing comcast does do right is allow you to connect to any xfinity wifi... luckily the neighbors connection is close enough that most of the time we can still watch tv.
This could be a very costly adventure because we have OLD old wiring... and we definitely need a new box... maybe the entire house rewired. Can I cry now?
Needless to say, no trips for us for awhile!
And... it's snowing like crazy this morning.
Sigh!
Yes...three different times in the last 10 years I drove from NJ to Orlando and back. I'd always stop in NC or SC and get a good nights sleep before continuing. Well anyway....each of those multi state I-95 trips I would get stuck in a back up of cars, and when I finally got to the front...well the tragic reason for the back up was that some maniac had crashed into the concrete divider or gone off the road due to overly aggressive driving. I hate the people who weave in and out of the lanes at 85mph....squeezing themselves into small gaps just to get ahead. I always leave a safe gap between myself and the car in front of me....and I'm not a weaver eitherThanks for the additional input, Steve. I know you meant no harm. Speed is a very sensitive subject to me, due to accidents and deaths on the highways in particular, from excessive speeds.
And that's bizarre about the electric going out?! Ugh. Hoping it won't be any major type of fix, and you'll get the power back without a big bill.

Thanks... unfortunately my house is very old, so I'm pretty positive it's going to be a major cashectomy!
So much information.![]()
So do speakers need to be bought separately from the record player with the USB/Bluetooth?
Oh that is horrible. I feel for you. If only Mr. Boomer lived closer. I bet he could have helped you out. Question. You are the insurance person. Would this be covered under your homeowners?Forgive me while I vent a little.

I hope not. Right before the holidays too.Thanks... unfortunately my house is very old, so I'm pretty positive it's going to be a major cashectomy!

I wonder if a home warranty like American Home Shield would cover such a thing. It would not. It's basic wear and tear of your home.

On the good side, you will have insurance that the new wiring will work and be up to standards.Thanks... unfortunately my house is very old, so I'm pretty positive it's going to be a major cashectomy!
Actually it doesn't. Our home warranty covered our AC system that went out during the summer. That saved us about $8k. We did need to pay for the coolant though for it, but it wasn't 8k. Here is wording from my American Home Shield contract.I'm not really familiar with those home warranties, I'm guessing the house needs to be newer to get a home warranty?
