Swap you our rain for your snow 👍
Says someone that hasn't endured months of snow and cold weather. Perhaps a location swap could be set up with a person that has spent years battling the elements can go to live in your place and you get to come and spend a winter in, let's say, Wisconsin. Snow is quite the novelty when you aren't driving in it, shoveling it or paying for heating utilities for the winter.

Don't be fooled by the exuberance of @MinnieM123. She has, obvious to everyone except her, serious mental illness problems or perhaps is a reincarnated Iditarod Sled Dog. Either way cold and snow excitement wears thin fairly quickly.

The population is less dense on 81, so they can have a higher speed limit, although it is pretty winding road in Virginia. It is definitely more straight in Pennsylvania.

By the way, how did your daughter enjoy her college weekend?
It was wonderful. For 3 and a half days she was a college student. She attended 5 classes....ate in the school cafe...slept in the dorm....went to a college basketball game....went to a concert. She even went zip lining on Liberty Mountain. Wow! She slept for most of the ride back home from Virginia to NJ.😉

Leave my state along. The section of the Wisconsin I live in does not have as much snow as some other parts do. Some parts of Wisconsin actually embrace the cold and snow by having a winter festival. There even is ice racing. Ice Racing is vehicles with snow tires actually race on places like a lake with a icy surface or a pond for that matter. On January 1st, there are parts in Wisconsin that have a Polar bear plunge. This polar bear plunge is when people jump a lake when it is cold outside with even being below zero.

What you mentioned is a couple of the elements my dad actually had to work in outside with the snow and the cold. My dad worked in the electrical field.

I was told the grandma that died before I was born loved snow. I was told Her reasoning was she was able to see animal tracks since hunting was one the things she enjoyed doing growing up. Wisconsin does having hunting season. According to me mom, she did not hunt or hunt not much after she had kids though.

I wish you lived closer, I would have sent my dh because he's starting to get under foot. This is the one 3 day weekend he always takes off. His birthday is a couple of days before. Veteran's Day so it's a double holiday for him, double work for mea

Awww.... well I have good news... a co-worker over heard me and we were having no luck with anyone calling back. Her next door neighbor is a guy who just left his corporate electrician job to start up his own company. We called him and he was over in an hour... and had the problem diagnosed and fixed in an hour.. and it wasn't the doomsday worse case scenario that my mind automatically went to.... the fix cost $60

... but I bet if it was the corporate company he was with, he would have been selling me a whole new rewiring job!

That is awesome!! I was actually in Lynchburf about 7 years ago. It is a really pretty area. My dd has a welcome to admitted students day in a couple of weeks to the college of her choice. It is only a full day of activities and not a weekend, but I am hoping she enjoys it. Being homeschooled, she hasn’t been in a large school environment in a while. She is looking forward to it, so that is a good sign.

Forgive me while I vent a little.

What a horrible weekend... (week really) Hubby's back and developed new issues and he has to get an MRI and xrays... only we are still waiting for the hospital to call with a time... it's usually super quick... so I'm not sure what's taking so long. Gotta call today and find out.

Saturday our electric decided to die in the whole upstairs and part of my kitchen downstairs. (basically one circuit) So we have been without power part of the weekend... the two saving graces are the heat and appliances are on different circuits, and our internet is out because of this, so luckily... the one thing comcast does do right is allow you to connect to any xfinity wifi... luckily the neighbors connection is close enough that most of the time we can still watch tv.

This could be a very costly adventure because we have OLD old wiring... and we definitely need a new box... maybe the entire house rewired. Can I cry now?

Needless to say, no trips for us for awhile!

And... it's snowing like crazy this morning.

Sigh!

Sorry @Rista1313 , I hope it all gets worked out soon. Sending good vibes your way.

Yeah that’s what I saw too. Oh well right now I will just pay for all three separately until a good deal comes out. All these are still cheaper than my cable used to be.
I saw a video today saying if you have a HULU account then sign up for Disney plus using the same profile you'll get a 5 dollar credit on your HULU account. I'm not sure how it will work
