My mom just called because she was worried that I didn't know my older ds would have a delay. I get a call and a text. What she didn't know his van isn't running at all. I've been trying to get to a fun sewing project and have been working on it 5 minutes at a time, oh well maybe next week

Just wait until she's close to 5 and starts helping with trip planning:banghead: James had a wonderful combo of memories, planning videos and being able to read enough words in Birnbaums to be a big help:hilarious:

She's meticulous and particular like I am. So I'm hoping that will translate into her being a compatible trip planner, lol. We basically go to do all the things she wants to do anyway, so in a way she already plans our trips!

I was in a good mood until I saw this.

I hate the "up to". I keep checking to see if anything is in the price range I'm willing to pay, and most of their stuff is still only 30% off. I'm not paying $30 for a dress for a four year old (with the exception of Disney princess dresses). I'll stick to H&M where the dresses are only $4.

The like is for the new oven. Everything else sounds not fun.
It all worked out. It wasn't what I planned, but it needed to be done and the nice thing was that it gave me a chance to spend some time with DD when she got home from Musical Theater....we had to decorate the cookies! I'm REALLY glad I wasn't scheduled to work in the evening, because then we would have had a problem. My husband would have been lost trying to bake cut-out cookies. They are for the french classroom, so the teacher gave them cookie cutters in the shape of letters and they had to spell a certain word. DD's word is "Merci". I don't think many people would be saying "Merci" if DH baked the cookies. He can cook, but he's pretty out of his depth with baking. He could probably handle cupcakes, or even something like chocolate chip cookies. But anything you have to roll out on a floured surface and have to adjust the baking time because of the size of the cookies...I'd have had to write out VERY specific instructions.

So tonight, my mom and I were out, with me driving. I saw a bunch of cars stopped on the opposite side of the road, so I decided to slow down. Good thing I did, because one of the cars had hit a deer, and the deer stumbled out in front of my car. I slammed on the brakes and did not hit the deer, but the deer stumbled and ended up hitting my car. Thankfully, I didn't have any damage other than some gross deer hair on the side of the car.

But wait, this gets better....

We came home thinking great, gotta tell Dad we were hit by a deer (and it was that way, I was sitting still). We came home and tell my dad, "We were hit by a deer." And he said, "Oh, well, I hit a deer."

Turns out that the car that hit the deer was his car, and it pinballed off and hit my car. It was the same spot at the same time, and he knew that there was a car in the opposite lane. He just didn't pick up on the fact that it was my car because, well, there's a ton of silver Honda Civics on the road, and he thought my mom would drive. We've got a new idea for a Farmer's commercial: Deer pinball.

Neither of us has any damage. But my car is going to the car wash tomorrow.

I agree with that... but he buys and makes his own food... so I can't hold out on that... really the only thing I could do is tell him he can go live in the snow!

I taped the note right on the lock he has to turn to get outside... so no excuse that he didn't see the note.
Lock the kitchen and tell him he can have the key after he's earned it by shoveling?

Honestly if it's a roll out cookie, I'm out too... I can do regular cookies, cakes, brownies, etc...

I loved that show. Gilmore Girls was something I watched faithfully back in the day. Cool video clip @Songbird76
............and that was such an amazing story told by @StarWarsGirl
DD and I watch it together. I watched it starting from something like....season 2 or three when it was on, and then I bought all the DVDs, but I don't use the DVDs since it's on Netflix. And I watched it so much that DD started watching with me, so we started from the first episode and we're on the Netflix 4 episode sequel now.

Yeah, I don't do a lot of them just because it's so much work. It's not that it's difficult, just that I'm too lazy! :hilarious: Whereas with DH, he can follow a recipe, but he has no experience with baking, so a lot of it, he would just be like "What??" and he wouldn't know that you need to adjust the baking time for smaller cookies...he wouldn't know how thick to roll it out. He wouldn't feel if it needed more flour, or if it was too dry. And, since you have to keep balling the scraps back up and rolling them out again, you add a bit of flour each time, so they get harder as you go. So I always break the dough up into smaller sections so I don't have a brick by the end. He wouldn't know to do that. But I think a lot of people don't do roll-out cookies just because of the amount of time it takes...same thing with cheesecake....people don't want to spend the time. Myself included, as far as roll out cookies. Cheesecake is worth the effort. The only reason we did roll out cookies this time is because that was what the teacher specifically asked for, and handed her the cookie cutters. I got to pick my own recipe though.

Both are good options, just depending upon what you feel like doing. I prefer the bubble experience; and for the shorter vacations I take, that also works best in terms of quicker access to the parks.

But years ago, I stayed off site all the time, and could add maybe 2 more days to the trip. But the off-site buses didn't run often; and the few times I rented a car, I got nervous driving because I didn't know the roads or the area. Hence, the bubble vacation works better in my case.
For us too. We like staying in the bubble. Just park the car for a week and take boats or busses. Love that!
