The doctor said to keep icing my foot. I have been negligent in that area, but I promise myself to do better. He also wants me to come back next Thursday, and he is going to give me some oral cortisone that I can use during my trip. I feel a bit more confident in the doctor after today. He thinks I might have a minor stress fracture, and those don't always show up on X-rays and take maybe a few months to heal.
I'm also bummed, because it looks my trigeminal neuralgia is coming back in the right side of my face. I was paying my copay to the receptionist at the foot doctor, and my face started hurting pretty bad.
Just curious, is there anything topical that you can use to numb out the pain on the side of your face? (I know nothing about the specific type of neuralgia you have; but I was just thinking about some general types of pain, and sometimes creams like BenGay, for example, can keep some pain at bay for a few hours at a time.)
I wish you well with both medical issues you're dealing with, and I hope that you'll have some relief by the time you go to Disney.

I know I'm practical and boring, but why do people buy an expensive vehicle noted for speed--that they can't completely enjoy--when there are posted speed limits everywhere, and they could get a ticket for speeding?

I hear that face pain can be wicked. Hope the flare up subsides quickly. And yeah stress fractures often don't show on x-rays and when they do it is usually when they are healed. Frustrating. But ligaments, tendons and muscle tears often don't show up on x-rays, they used an ultra sound for my diagnosis 'cause I didn't want an MRI and that goes with that.
