So I did something today that I hope will get me a bonus at the pearly gates. My ex called and asked me to book a trip for him and his other daughter....for Christmas......and would I make all the dining arrangements. Mind you when it was OUR daughter's birthday he didn't do anything. No card, no present, nothing. :bored:

I thought about it and it made me angry to the point my chest hurt so being like pulling off a bandaid, I just did it and don't have to worry about it anymore. Surprisingly I could not get a HoopDeDoo ADR for the days they will be there but I scored an ADR at CRT on Christmas Day. Yep, that's gotta be worth some brownie points.

I work in a similar system as you. Since I got 2 screens I cant work with 1 lol.
.

My DD always works with 2 screens. I was by her place on Saturday and I had to laugh. She had her monitor, her laptop in a cradle, one laptop on side of desk and the other on a high back barstool all while also using her iPhone.

This kid saved and bought her very own laptop when she was in 4th grade. Young'ns continue to amaze me.

you couldnt call the cops on them?

I'd never. We are a very small town. I know all my neighbors. He has helped me many times over the years, he is a plumber, Plumbing was never husbands strong suit. I've known the people across the street for several decades, he is an Electrician, He rewired our bathrooms and garage and all the lighting. These people are like family to us, it is a small town thing. And like family, I went over and smiled at him and told him if he burnt my Gazebo down he'd be spending the next two weekends building me a new one. :D And he would.

If you are talking about where I think you are, then yes. Although, we went to a fireworks show the night before. Smaller, no pay, and you can see them just fine from the parking lot in the car. Makes for an easy and quick exit. Also, on the way back home, we drive past a tasty little donut shop. Yummy!

DS and his friends went to the ones that you are likely referring to. He said they were great, and they also escaped the "preferred parking" fee.

Their fireworks are awesome. We have friends within a few blocks of the viewing area so we know where to park. Years ago we use to sit on their lawn and watch but the trees grew too tall for that. Unlike Disney I guess that don't chop trees down for fireworks viewing. ;) I heard people complaining that parking is now $25 a vehicle. We saved the money and walked the 3 blocks. It wasn't as easy as normal though lots of construction in that area.

Illegal, but for sale in every store you walk into. I don't get that.

I've never seen fireworks sold in Illinois. I have seen fake fireworks sold in Box Stores. Illinois allows these as they are not pyrotechnics.
  • Sparklers
  • Some small cap guns
  • Snake or glow worm pellets
  • Smoke devices
  • Trick noisemakers known as "party poppers"
  • "Booby traps"
  • "Snappers"
I know we can't even have bottle rockets. I'm sure my neighbor goes to Indiana.

In Vermont absolutely nothing was allowed to be sold in the state. (Well, cap guns, maybe) Here in NC, there is always a number of large temporary tents that go up about two weeks before the 4th. They sell everything except the powerful in the sky fireworks. Little cheap ones are for sale, but, they don't rise much more then 10 ft. before they laughingly explode.

The problem is it being closed a portion of the year didn't help it succeed.

Funny, best I can tell, SeaWorld San Antonio is only open from July through December, with not being open on many days during the week of school and cooler months.
Whereas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas just down the road, is open at least a few days during every month if the year.
And, best I can tell, the original Schlitterbahn just down the road in New Braunfels is open less than 3 full months of the year.
Still, they all seem to be thriving...go figure... :cyclops:

Well, what do you do after you get downsized from a job after 19 years? You go to wine country, of course! So here we are, back again.
Long-Island-Wine-Country.jpg

First stop was Jamesport Vineyards. Good wine, but expensive - $18.00 per tasting (per person)!

Then on to Sherwood House Vineyards. Phil took this of me enjoying a taste of Cabernet Franc.

I don't know what the hell I am smiling about. I'm downsized, remember? Oh yeah, maybe it's that little severance package that might allow a trip back to the world. :)

Anyway, here is a shot of one of the many vineyards out on Long Island East End.

And here is a good philosophy about life ; )

They also have some apple cider mills out there, and we went to one of those next:

And here is the rat b@stard who won't let me go back to WDW, Grrrr.

Errr, anyway, we finished it up at Kontakosta Winery which is all the way out as far as you can go on the East End, in Greenport, on a cliff, and since I couldn't decide on white or rose, I tried both!

Annnyway, there is a slight possibility that we bought a little too much wine, but you be the judge. ;)

And naturally, this drunk has already claimed a bottle for himself.

Yeah my neighbor was sending off the powerful ones in the sky fireworks. He has lived here 16 years and he has always set them off but never ever these huge things. Fine is $2500 and up to a year in prison. But they gotta catch ya and prove it. So much is going on those weekends and the sheriff office really doesn't have the manpower to follow up on fireworks complaints anyhow.

Wings very greatly from venue to venue, region and city. And add in the ME factor. I wasn't raised with spices and it is only been in the last 10 years I could eat anything with stronger spices as my taste buds are dieing off.

I just ate something on Saturday for lunch that was CALLED Bang Bang Shrimp. Trust me it was nowhere near Bang Bang Shrimp. Me I just never order Wings. I know people love them, I just don't see the draw.

Yep, you'd think I might be a "Wing King", but, I'm not. I like good ones well enough, like at 'Ohana for instance, where they come with the meal, but, I never order them, anywhere.
It has always just seemed like a marketing gimmick to sell the less desirable parts of chicken, IMHO.
There are always sooooo many more appetizing things on the menu at the places we go...! :hungry:

Yep, first thing I thought of was Pops. I saw little ducks hanging in a Springs photo on the main website. Thought of him again. I wouldn't want to be seated near the show kitchen. I don't like my meat to resemble their previous being. I saw another one, menu saying Whole Fish.
They were not kidding. Propped up like he was swimming on the plate, face, lips, eyes. I LOVE fish. I just don't want him staring at me.

Hahaaa...!
My pop may or may not has been known to eat fish like that, too...!!! :hilarious:

Great America then bought by Six Flags is Open weekends in May and September-October and everyday during the summer. It is always packed. In May they open some weekdays for Science and Math field trips and I know our middle school choir always does a competition there. It is also in May when our 8th graders go there for their grad trip.

Me, I flatly refused to chaperone those trips. No way, no how. I quickly learned never to chaperone anything early on in my sons first years of primary school. I read with students, I would work in kitchen, serve special luncheons, father daughter dance (gave that one up quickly too) worked market day, served hot lunch special days, field day. Chaperoning, nope.
