Ok, so when we originally planned our Disney trip, we planned 5 days and so that's what the kids know about. That was before I read on the Disneytouristblog and mousesavers that international guests get better deals and I went searching. So the kids know nothing about our 10 days in the resort or the 14 day tickets. We'd like to surprise them with that at Christmas. Anyone have any creative ideas for how to pop the news? I've thought of maybe doing a sort of scavenger hunt where each clue gives them a word or something. Or just printing off something that looks like a ticket that says 10 days and putting it in an envelope. But I want it to be pretty big and fun and more than just telling them "Oh, by the way, we're staying for 10 days instead of 5."
Surprise them with pancakes shaped like a ten.

No absconded luncheon munchies pics today. :( ;)
No more room on my phone left for pics, and all the ones now on it are too special to delete.
Need to download them to another device at some point.

Anyway, it was Murphy's Deli...
Roast beef sandwich, Miss Vickie's Sea Salt & Vinegar chips, half a pickle, a fruit cup, and a peanut butter chip cookie...! :hungry: :)

I remember gas prices at 29 cents a gallon, and could get free glass ware, or green or yellow stamps. But, the parents didn't make much in those days. It pretty much evens out.

The lowest price I can remember is about $0.48 or so a gallon.
But, also considering the gas mileage most cars were gettin' back then , there was still a lot of $$$ bein' spent on gas. :greedy:

I'm squeeing because we just booked our Disney trip. 10 days at CBR with the Dining plan, free memory maker, free $100 gift card, 14 day tickets for the price of 7, and we'll stay for a couple of extra nights with my friend in Kissimmee and since we have 14 day tickets, we can go to the parks for those days, too, so we basically have 2 weeks at Disney. I am sooooo EXCITED. It seems so much more real now that I have it booked, with a confirmation number.
wow, 10 days is a loong visit!

Years ago I worked for a hotel company, and they had a hotel in Bermuda. I recall some insane prices on some very common items in the stores down there. For example, a bag of potato chips was around $3.75, and that was many years ago! The reason was probably the same as on your island--absolutely everything had to be either flown in or shipped in. It must be expensive to live on an island. ;)
or just convenient price gouging (see Movie Theatre popcorn and drinks)

put a copy of the tickets and invitations inside a classic gif box with a giant disneyworld picture?

dunno, I did something similar when I gave the news to my sister's dd.

dont forget to use this image when you mention the 10 days instead of 5.

iPhone craziness. Pay attention @donaldtoo Reconsider upgrading the software at the moment.

It all started with an issue with connectivity to charge after ruling out cords and plug. It was draining battery connecting and disconnecting.
So we knew Apples stand-bye was you need to upgrade software. Backed up phone barely accomplished that with the phones connectivity issues but it did, I worried more about my photos than anything. Phone froze on Saturday with Apple Logo and load bar. Several hours on tech support online Chat ending with first appointment 'till Tuesday. Purchased a burner phone on Sunday. Good thing. They gave me a new phone on Tuesday, that evening went to pull all the contacts, texts etc off the laptop backed up. And the freak'n thing again froze the same way as it did Saturday night. 3 hours tech online and offered only an appointment, first available Sunday the 27th.

Walked into Apple near opening this morning without required appointment. A nice young woman had pity upon me. She took the phone and went and looked at it after she listened to my tale of woe. She sent us away while she wiped the phone and restored it and upgrded it but also saying after 2 tries to restore from backup they quit that and won't try anymore and neither should we. At this point I want my phone and am so tired of dealing with this for hours on end multiple days and especially Apples canned online responses like I know how you feel, I too know how difficult it is to live without my phone....and similar bonding attempts. One supervisor actually typed if he could get on an airplane and bring a big bag of iPhones to my home until he found one that worked he would do that for me but he couldn't. Seriously how condescending.

So I went back 20 minutes later and the nice woman handed me my new phone of yesterday and told me not to try to load the back up to the phone to restore the data. She went on to say maybe, maybe in a month or so all the problems they are having will be fixed and it might work then. Just wish they leveled and were honest like that days ago and I wouldn't have kept trying and freezing.

So now I am trying to relocate all my contacts. And this cured me of thinking about upgrading this laptop to Windows 10.
