I am not a Jim Hill hater, but I don't trust him either. Didn't RSR alone cost $1 billion? What would that leave for the rest of the park if the entire redo was only $1.2-$1.4 billion?

He has said that that Radiator Springs Racers will not be a copy of what is in DCA but will be an entirely indoor version. This rumor has been floating around for a while so I am not sure if it's currently true.

DCA Makeover was...

- All of Carsland with it's 3 rides, shops, resturants and themeing
- Mermaid
- Toy Story Midway Mania (not sure if this was part of the $1b)
- world of Color
- Carthay Circle Resturant
- Complete re-do of the entrance and Buena vista Street
- Complete re-do of the Paradise Pier food area
- Red car trolleys
- Removal of Maliboomer
- Replacement of Orange Stinger swing ride
- Various other smaller updates around the park

I am very excited about this update. Although not a completely original attraction, an indoor version of RSR could be amazing if the theming is very well done. As we have speculated, the infastructure costs are probably a lot more than we realize, but overall this is a huge project taking place in an open theme park so no real surprise there. It will be nice to get more information about these "5 phases" and exactly what they each entail. And although we all would love some new "E's" and "D's", I am hoping whatever we do end up with will be worth the wait.

Maybe we're not talking about the same Jim Hill episode, but didn't he seem to indicate that the Toy Story Playland element of Pixar Place is the only one confirmed at this point (Radiator Springs being a very doubtful "phase 2") and that the Star Wars expansion, if it even happens, is 7-8 years from breaking ground?

That's exactly the price range I remember as well from well-connected insiders back in 2011-12. And Radiator Springs Racers takes up half of the 12 acres of Cars Land, with all that exterior rockwork using a large part of the budget. Racers is a truly massive attraction.

I wouldn't be disappointed at all if we got Radiator Springs Racers, especially if it's an indoor version like Hill said. Great possibilities. I'm hoping we get much more for Pixar though, especially an attraction based on The Incredibles.

The entire "Carsland to DHS" rumor has been out there for quite some time.

I would not be a fan of another test track.
