That's funny - I took it to mean that Epcot blew the whole budget on the NYE fireworks display, and now the cupboard is bare.

I think it's a great idea!
As a matter of fact, I hung out in my jammies until almost 8:00 this morning. 
It was fun to have a late morning on a weekday, before I finally went out for a long trek in the woods. It was 11 degrees here this morning, and the cold outside always gives me energy. It was a nice start to New Year's Day, 2015!

We're up watching the Rose Bowl Parade.
Isn't that parade just gorgeous? I didn't see the whole parade, but I did catch some of it. The creativity of the float designers is just extraordinary. I'm always in awe of the talent these people exhibit each year.

It would be interesting to know what it costs to put on an extravaganza like that. I watched the video here on WDW Magic. Wow. What a great show!
(I don't think the cost of the show had much to do with the fact that Disney is taking its time about adding more good rides, in addition to the need for better-maintained existing rides. My guess is that, in the bigger picture here, the money spent on the show last night was probably just a drop in the bucket, of the enormous budget WDW has.) Happy New Year to you, by the way!
