Princesses may not rule fantasy land after all! Frontierland expansion rumor reality?

:ROFLOL:

Yeah....right....

I'm certain that there is something in the fine print that would allow Disney to cancel every bit of the FLE, however announcing it with tons of hype and in rather fine detail and since then selling DVCs with people believing it is happening would be seriously bad form.

Ah yes. But would you think that ALL of the plans would be announced? No. That would lead to an anticlimatic opening of the expansion. And some of the plans, like I said above, would start some negative feedback if it were announced too early. That's why they are keeping some things under wraps. But at least they are going to back it up with some additional surprises that no one here has even mentioned yet...because they don't know about them. :animwink:

Sounds good to me.:)

I love how people's "speculations" become "official" in other people's minds. The concept art that has been released to the public, the one that everyone has seen, isn't even current. The princesses are going into a place temporarily that hasn't been announced yet. And that place will become very contiversial when it's finally announced.

See this scares me... You say the princesses are going into a place no one knows because it hasn't been announced.. But, didn't they announce Belle's Storytime M&G??? Aurora's Birthday Celebration M&G?? And a very elaborate Cinderella M&G??? So, they were announced.. or, and maybe this is what you mean, until those M&G's are done, the Princesses are having M&G's set up somewhere that will really P.O. members of this site????

I am so dopey right now...

Yes, it will be a temporary M&G area until the FLE is complete. But the area being planned for this will not be liked by everyone. In other words, something has to go in order for something else to move in. After the FLE is complete and the M&G moves to their respectful places, the temporary M&G place will not be returned as it was but rather turned into something else.

Hey, I'm being as discript as I can without giving away the candy store.

Lets see, Lee, Raven and Jim Hill actually have inside sources, vs., a few posters on a message board with no sources but their own wishful thinking and assumptions...

Hmmm, this is difficult...

Nah, I'm taking Lee, Jim and Raven's word for it. ;)

I love candy....;)
So basically what Raven is saying is that what Tom Staggs is saying is not true and the M&Gs will still be built. Just hurry up and get this garbage expansion over with so we can focus on the other lands in FL. This is by far one of the worst decisions and expansions in Disney Park History. They keep saying to have patience and wait for major additions to the parks but weve been waiting for years and its getting tiring. Whats the last major E Ticket added to the MK? Splash Mountain back in 1992, yeah so what do you expect us do now. Only hope we have for a while is Star Tours 2.0.

When it is returned to something else, will that something else be liked or unliked by most? That is if you know. Thanks.

Well then, I'm hoping the temporary m&g's are right in the middle of the Tomorrowland Speedway.

On some levels, I agree with you. But, the franchise is more than just that. The DVDs are popular. The on-line game is a wild success. And the Tink-related merch sells well.

The idea that a direct-to-DVD franchise is somehow unfit for the parks is crazy to me. Walt was one of the first to realize the potential of TV (while most were looking down their noses at the new medium) He themed the lands of DL to his shows. If Walt were around today, I think he'd do the same with the direct-to-DVD market.

Disney has a lousy track record with direct-to-DVD. I think they devalued the Disney brand with all of those horrible direct-to-DVD sequels. But that doesn't mean direct-to-DVD is necessarily bad.

The quality of the Fairies movies has actually been pretty good. They are aimed at my daughter and not me. But I can appreciate that they are well done. Compare them to those horrible Barbie movies if you don't believe me.

Good post! I think the Tink movies are very well done. And both my son (aged 6) and my daughter loved the movies!

I too am encouraged by the rumors of Pixie Hollow getting the axe, that franchise will have no longevity what-so-ever.

But FL and TL are the lands that need work right now. I don't see why Frontierland needs anything.

I'm not saying I was all for PH but I wasn't against it either. But how do you know that the franchise will have no longevity whatsoever!?!

Not any more ;)

So does this mean no PH at all (any way, shape, or form)? I mean, the M&Gs are hugely popular... they must do something with Tink!?! I was hoping we would get a M&G similar to DLs (don't they have some little light show in their queue in the evening?) I was disappointed with our queue but then I wondered if it was temporary b/c something better was coming...

Okay...I say they do this: Make a much smaller scale M&G area for Tinkerbell across from Peter Pan's Flight...over in the area where the strollers/old Skyway station is. Who cares about any of the other fairies except for Tinkerbell. NOne of them are staple Disney characters and in my mind don't deserve a meet and greet spot.
If a direct to DVD character who ISNT Tinkerbell gets her own M&G, then I insist they bring back Scrooge McDuck and Darkwing Duck and give each of them their own meet and greet areas as well, since people my age grew up with the Disney afternoon and never really got the chance to blow money on stuff related to their franchises. ;)

Well, my daughter cares about the other fairies and so do a lot of other little girls! But I would love to see Scrooge McDuck and Darkwing Duck... now that would be awesome!!!

I really hope nothing similar to DL's "Pirate Island" will be happening here. I know Pirates is not close enough to the island for that tie-in, but "Woody's Roundup" doesn't sound any better, in fact maybe worse. I love Toy Story as much as the next person, but there does not need to be a Pixar tie-in to improve the island. I don't think it needs a new theme, just some plussing. It would be so fun to have a Kim Possible-style scavenger hunt, using the caves. Wouldn't it be cool to have different locations and structures on the island that you only find if certain clues lead you there? I feel like the current theme is reminiscent of a simpler time, when kids could have fun running around outside and using their imaginations, and when every themed area of a Disney park didn't have to have a movie tie-in that could sell merchandise. I would be so sad to see it change.

My kids still have fun running around TSI... it's the highlight of their trips! I would be sad to see TSI go b/c of my kids!

Those plans haven't been finalized yet. But I'm personally wishing for something exciting.

Well then, I'm hoping the temporary m&g's are right in the middle of the Tomorrowland Speedway.

Wish I could say that was true. I want that gone more than anyone else.

Would this be a currently little used location in Frontierland?

So wow, one year of hype since it was announced and PH is now axed from the budget. I'm just waiting to see what they will replace it with, they better not leave Toontown. Hopefully they create a new land there, more boy-centric and that somehow also incorporates the Dueling Dumbos concept. So I'm just hoping the FL forest is just the Princess M&G's, the ride and restaurant, while the PH area is a new land.

I really dont understand why the hell some of these posters are satisfied with having the Princess Meet and Greets part of the expansion. They should be replaced with dark rides that appeal to everyone.

I'm not happy with them. I never said I was. But since the fact of the matter is that they're still going to be built, why fret? Nothing we can do about it anyways.
