Since there in nothing at all futuristic about FW anymore (SSE is about the past mostly, nothing what so ever Futuristic about TT, Nemo in TLS, UOE 15 to 20 years behind the times.

TL is not about tomorrow but has a scfi theme.

They have already thought about changing FW name so should they change the name if the themes have nothing to dye with the future, if so what should the new named be?

Future World could be changed to Discovery World an TL maybe to Walt Disney Space Port or something similar.

If rather see the be fixed and about the future again but if that isn't going to happen they should change the names.

No, never, not possible. :fork::lol: At least not possible in my mind.

I think that these would be too big of a change. Change is needed, but there's something to be said for nostalgia.

TL is still a vision of the future and tomorrow. It's fine with me.

FW, true, no longer is as futuristic as it used to be, but that's no reason to give it a generic name, for a generic subject. That is however, a reason to bring better showmanship and attractions to the park. ;)

They are my two favorite spots in WDW, with that said Disney shows no sign of making them future themed any time in the future. An example of this is SSE the latest refurb in each area. The whole thing is now about the past and present. I hope they update each area but there are no signs that they are. There us a SM refurb going on but from everyones reaction it seems that it won't be futuristic either.

There are plans, though...;)
The names shouldn't be changed, the contents should.

Exactly.

Well, ALL of the Future World attractions, right from opening day, were about the past more than the future. Perhaps they should have found a different name for that area right from the start, but to suddenly make this an issue now, almost thirty years after the fact seems pointless.

But in spite of the name they chose, the original Imagineers wanted to use Future World to inspire guests, and show that modern technology could be user-friendly and helpful. The intent was to show guests where we had been, help them become more comfortable with the technology we have right now, and leave the actual realization of the future up in the air to be developed, you know, in the future.

However, much of the technology used IN Future World is STILL futuristic. Spaceship Earth just got a whole new set of cutting edge Audio-Animatronics, and the technology used in the Nemo Sea Cab ride is brand new. Mission: Space is also quite advanced, and even now Test Track still has a unique ride system.

And Tomorrowland? Sure, it has more of a science fiction slant to its theme now, but why is that such a big deal? The names for all the various lands are there to help focus a theme, not put a straitjacket on future ideas.

All this is very true. The original FW had a huge slant on history, but where it's futuristic sections were, is where the heart lay. It worked, strangely enough...

Would it work today? I hope, but I have doubts. What they need to do, though is bring that realistic almost Horizons feeling back to the future. World.;)

Both names are fine as is. Future WOrld focuses on a futuristic look at innovation and technology whereas Tomorrowland is based off a comical and humourus yet unreal look at what the future might have been.

I would honestly like to see Future World renamed Discovery World... Tomorrowland is a famous Disney name and should stay, but the attractions should be changed.

Why not see if you can change the name of EPCOT while you're at it?
It's not really an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

Good luck with that.

R.I.P.

P- First Park of it's kind and see E

C-World Showcase, the CP, it all falls under

Change the name of Tomorrowland? That's like changing the name of Pirates of the Caribbean. Tomorrowland was one of Walt's original ideas... I hope the name never changes.
