The Robins Have Arrived!

All of you in the great frozen north can take heart. The robins have arrived in northern Florida, on their annual Spring migration. My yard is full of them gouging themselves on seeds and insects to plump up (and they are getting incredibly plump) for their flight. They only stay for a day or two, then disappear as quickly as they came.

So, you should be spotting them in a few weeks. Maybe someone further north could post and let me know when they arrive? Heck, we could track them all the way to Canada. :lol:

They must be some of the middle waves...there have already been some large groups up here in NJ. They were enjoying the puddles at the end of the drive on Sat. (as robin's do so well)
It does seem a little early as the ground is still pretty hard, and there aren't a lot of insects buzzing around. Hope they don't find out they are a little too early birds...

Yay! That is one of my favorite things is when I finally see the first Robin of the year. Then I know that dreaded winter is almost over! Should be seeing them here before too long hopefully if this cold snap ever goes away. :brick:

They've been in Birmingham, AL a few weeks now. We always have a few that decide to stay for the summer and raise their young in our carport.

I can honestly say, I live in St. Louis and have seen 2 robins already on two seperate occurances. So, they're on their way north. I also have been hearing birds chirping again in the morning, something I definitely don't hear in the winter...

Spring is almost here!!!

Unlike my New Jersey neighbor, I haven't seen any robins yet, but I am very hopeful. Any sign of spring can only be welcome after this long winter! I'll post back when I see them

I have only seen cardinals in my part of VA, but I agree about loving to see the robins!!!

I finally saw a robin in New Jersey (NYC area), and my mom (in Iowa) saw several already. Yes!!!:sohappy:

I was just telling my wife today that I saw my first Robin Tuesday of this week. I have saw several since then. She thought I was crazy when I told her I don't think spring until I see that first Robin.

So in Northwest Indiana the Robins have arrived :sohappy:

I can attest to the fact that some are here in PA.

They nest on my front porch, and when someone comes out on the porch, they fly into a bush nearby until we go away.

The other day, I was walking past said bush, when the robin flew out of there so fast, right in front of my face and nearly stopped my heart!:ROFLOL:

Good to see them, though!

Not only robins, but some of the goldfinches are showing their first spring yellow. :sohappy:

I've seen a couple here in Wisconsin. I have the outside windows open for the first time this year....as it is in the high 50's here today. I can definitely hear them also....the finches have been playing under the awnings of my house.
