What's Cooking for Thanksgiving?

Being as I am a very curious girl...;)..
I prefer curious instead of nosy..:D

I would like to know what you all will be having to eat this Thanksgiving..:slurp:

So, please share with us what you will be eating and if you have any special dishes and can post the recipe for us as well that would be great!

This year there will be roughly 10-12 people coming together to celebrate and give thanks in my house. I have the distinct pleasure of cooking more than I ever have in my life!

Here's our menu!
  • Turkey
  • Ham
  • Stuffing
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Cheesy Broccoli Rice Casserole *
  • Green Bean Casserole *
  • Fried Okra *
  • Deviled Eggs *
  • Lima Beans *
  • Sweet Potato Casserole
  • Grilled Corn on the Cob *
  • Baked Macaroni and Cheese *
  • Pumpkin Roll
  • Vinegar Pie *
  • Biscuits
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Gravy

(Everything with a * by it is what I'm in charge of!)

There should be TONS of leftovers! :lol:

Some lovin' for the givin' :)

I'll be having some lasagna with peanut-butter and jelly finger sandwich appetizers :lookaroun

Honestly though...

Turkey
Mashed Taters
Corn
Sweet Potatoes
Squash
Turnip
Stuffing (obviously)
Cranberry Sauce
Green Bean Casserole

(I could go on...but I realize now...why Americans are so overweight...they didn't stand a chance from the get-go!) :lol:

Heading to my sister's this year, but I know the menu by heart because you can't mess with tradition. :lol:

Start off with cheese and crackers and veggies and dip

Turkey and stuffing
mashed potatoes and gravy
carrots
green bean casserole
coleslaw
cranberry sauce
dinner rolls (if we don't forget to cook them again :lookaroun )

Then there are the assorted desserts - pumpkin pie, apple pie,
cheesecake and sugar free lemonade pie (the last 2 are mine)

We are going to Drew's parents and we will be having..

Fried Turkey
Regular Turkey
Cranberry Stuffing
Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Praline Pecan Sweet Taters :slurp:
Mashed Taters and Gravy
Assorted veggies
Rolls
Caramel Apple Cheesecake :slurp:
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie


I will be running extra at the gym the next few days :lol:

I have lots to be Thankful for..:D

Going to the farm again this year. If it's anything like last year, we'll be having:

Turkey
Mashed Potatoes
Macaroni and Cheese
Stuffing
Beans of some sort
Fresh home made bread
Fresh vegetables from the garden
Venison steaks/Venison Brunswick Stew fresh out of the woods (:lookaroun)
Pecan Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie
Bruise Pie (Black + Blueberries)

Oh goodness, I'm excited. Thanksgiving is the GREATEST.

We'll have around 12 people at my house and I'm cooking everything by myself....and we're leaving for Disney 2 days after Thanksgiving:eek:. I think I'm gonna be just a little bit busy.

Appetizers:

summer sausage

spinach dip with veggies

Meal:
Turkey
Cornbread dressing
gravy
mashed potatos
squash casserole
green beans amandine
corn
rolls
cranberry mold

Dessert:
Pumpkin pie
Chocolate pecan pie

Cranberry Relish *
Ham

Mashed Potatoes & Gravy

Dessert:
Hershey Pie
Pumpkin Roll

I am not a big fan of cranberry sauce but last year I found a recipe for this relish with fresh cranberries, yellow raisins, & pecans that is really good. If anyone wants the recipe I will post it.

The Pumpkin Roll is a tradition that replaced our Pumpkin Pie, again if anyone wants the recipe I would be glad to post.
