I witnessed a man take 20+ minutes to order his food yesterday

It was pouring rain while at the Magic Kingdom yesterday, so I hopped on over to the Terrace Noodle Station for a quick bite and an escape from the rain. While in line waiting to order, a man in front of me just stood there staring at the menu. After a few minutes the CM asked "How may I help you?" The man just stared at him for what seemed like an eternity and asked him "Is the beef and broccoli any good?" The CM replied "Oh, yeah it's my favorite." This mans reply was "How do you know?" At this point I began to seek out another line, because I knew this was going nowhere fast. The CM said "I've had everything. This is my favorite." "Oh... So you've had everything? What's your favorite?" That is the last I heard from this guy while heading over to the line next to it.

After ordering and receiving my meals, I turned around and started to head towards the seating area. This guy was still trying to order, holding up a huge line behind him. He comes over to me and starts poking his head around my food, his face about 4" away from my food. I immediately pulled back and gave him the stink eye.

After our meals, it was just about time for our fastpasses over at Space Mountain, so I cleared the tray and as I walked past the ordering lines... THERE HE WAS. Still asking questions and hadn't ordered a thing!

I felt bad for that CM

Maybe there was something wrong with the Man?

Very possibly or is from a different set of cultures (you see what you are getting in person, opposed to a pretty picture). I've had my fair share of weird people at amusement parks, many fall into stereotypes of their ethnic type, but still, some very odd stuff.

So very true.

On a slightly unrelated subject, have you ever walked into a counter service restaurant with a long line on one side of the cashier island and no line on the opposite side. Both sides of the cashier island are usually open, but the casual tourist doesn't realize this. You will get those fast pass dirty looks if you exercise your "other side" option, but it's perfectly within your rights to do so. The cashier will alternate between sides.

Great story, thanks for sharing! All I can see is this random guy touching your food asking "What did you think?"

Ok..that is just plain weird! I don't care where you are from, that is odd behavior. I'm with those who say the man has something wrong with him.

It must have been a training session stress test! Sort of like the survival schools they put military pilots though. ;-)

I know a guy who would do something like just because he has no concept of the fact that there is a whole world of people out there besides himself. He would see nothing wrong with holding up a line of people for 20 minutes while he decided what he wanted to eat. He would have no problem with harassing the CM with stuiped questions because he would see it as "their job" to help him.

Yes... some people are just that selfish and weird.

sknydave, I want to hear more about your actual interaction.
So he left the queue to come over and investigate your tray, then got back in line? Did he say anything to you? Were you sitting down yet? Did he do it to anyone else?
Details man, details! "Freaks at WDW" stories are always better with loads of details!

I feel sorry for the CM. I would have said something like, "Are you ready to order, sir?" or say that there are people behind him that need to order.

Should have come to Auntie Gravities, I was on register there yesturday and there really wasn't anything to do. Everyone waited in there and didn't order a thing. :brick:

Iv'e seen that before, I usually get a question about everything and I mean everything on the menu. One of my favorites "Whats Hot Tea?" :ROFLOL:

Thats really rather creepy that he came up to your food, should have asked "Would you like to try some?" lol.

lol.. Since I went to the next line over, after receiving the food I passed him still in the ordering line. He just had to walk about 5 feet to come sniff my food :ROFLOL:
