MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Am I the only one who is of the opinion to spend 100's of millions of dollars on a new land to have 2 new attractions is just plain stupid? Toy Story land, Star Wars Land, Avatar all just 2 new attractions and the complaint is all of these are under developed. Yet it appears Villains land and the AK new land both appear to have only 2 new attractions (and no I do not count a redo on Dinosaur a new attraction).
I see what you're saying. However, with that said, would a $2 million budget be able to afford and pay for a sixth park in today's market? Probably not. It is most likely cheaper to expand land with two rides.

Imagine if they built a brand new land and instead of an E-ticket and a C that cost millions of dollars, they build a land with 5 or 6 B tickets (but ones the whole family can ride). Just sayin’…

just don't think that is realistic as it is the E/D tickets that i) promote sales of LLMP/PP/SP and ii) are the marketing draw to the lands and get people excited and to book a trip

Ideally they do have a couple of lower level attractions as well to help with crowd dispersion - though I also know those are the easiest to cut when the budget is getting too high

I hope Villains gets
- Major E ticket dark rides - level of Rise but without a height restriction so the whole family can ride. Maybe something like Mystic Manor where you are exploring the castle but then get spotted and one of the Villains casts a spell on your ride vehicle making it go out of control a bit
- The coaster - that is trilling but still a family coaster. Something the level of Hagrids would be great
- a C ticket ride with no height requirements and/or a play area
- a show
- streetmosphere
- TS restaurant - maybe with characters or at least some immersion elements (maybe could use some of the animators pallet technology from the cruise line making it like a magic mirror at each table
- quick service, shops, etc.

$2 million doesn't even get you a restaurant these days. Guardians is reported to have cost $450 million+, Galaxy's Edge was over a billion. Epic Universe is rumored to have soared over its $5 billion budget. The volume of money required to make these parks happen is monumental.

Do you think Disney would make any more revenue off a 3 ride villains land then a 2 ride villains land?

Depends how much more that third ride increases overall capacity, what merch is related to that third ride, if that third ride promotes additional LLMP/PP purchases, if it promotes people to stay longer and buy more food, etc.

I do think the incremental financial benefits go down with each subsequent ride added but definitely ways having 3, 4, 5, etc rides can lead to more total $ return vs just 2... Now if it is enough more to make it worthwhile for have high upfront costs, that is a different question

Disney has been digging through its past ideas lately, if you haven’t noticed. Villains Land, Door Coaster, Muppets RNRC, and Indy in Dinosaur have all been past rumors come back to life. Very interesting.

Do you think this trend will continue? And if so, what other past rumors do you think have a chance of “coming back”?
I hope it continues because these are all great ideas well the the muppets isn’t what I personally would have done with rock and roller coaster but apart from that they all things I wanted to see

Looking at the concept art, I really don't see this area being "Family" with family attractions.

I forget who it is, but there is a well known poster who constantly mentions capacity. So this is the wrong question, the correct question is do 2 rides address the capacity problem? And what should also be considered is since you are pouring all this money now, is it not more economical to add another attraction or 2 now rather that say adding attractions several years later when costs will only go up? Again, they do not all need to be E ticket rides--a B and C type attraction would do just fine. Think of what it would cost Disney today to add just one attraction to Toy Story or Avatar.

I doubt it will ever come back but would love to dust off the plans for Epcot.

I doubt Muppets Rock 'n' Roller Coaster was ever seriously considered before 2024. They likely realized just as they were about to announce MuppetVision's closure that people would be angry about it, saw people bringing up the Electric Mayhem Rock 'n' Roller Coaster idea online, and greenlit it solely to pacify us Muppets fans.
