The Villain Spelltastic Evilhotel:
a ten thousand dollar week-long experience offering windowless hotel rooms in a dark cave-like atmosphere full of villains. And of course you get to go to the park (but only villains land) for an hour. Built in the parking lot, and the only way to get to the park from it is of course an unthemed bus

At D23 Josh said two major attractions. From the concept art it looks like their minds are thinking at least one of them to be a themed roller coaster. I highly doubt the second one will be another roller coaster.
Based on Josh emphasizing two major attractions on stage, I am certainly under the impression we are getting a very good, themed story-telling coaster, and a Villain's ride on the level of Rise (using all the bells and whistles of Imagineering)

I am prepared to be underwhelmed, but that's what I am expecting based on how he described the attractions.

Here's my question. Does Magic Kingdom need another roller coaster?

Not terribly. It needs another showpiece E ticket dark ride for sure.

But after it gets another kiddie flat, a terrain kinetic ride and an E ticket dark ride in Villains… then does it need a roller coaster?

Sort of? It’s not the worse decision per se. Especially if it’s more of a Hagrid-like.

What it definitely didn’t need was another princess splash mountain. I actually think MK could have used a showpiece simulator in Coco. Probably super unpopular take as a lot of people dislike those rides on principle and particularly because of the competition up the street… but WDW has relatively few.
The ones it has are mostly unique experiences from one another and MK has currently none. Which is weird considering the prominence of Star Tours or proxies at most other castle parks.

Of course we would all like to see at least one major dark ride. Which means that Disney will build a simulator and a rollercoaster. Prepare for disappointment.

Yeah I kinda get that and don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to be a Debbi downer but I just feel like there’s better ways to do this never the less I hope this turns out better than I’m expecting
I feel like I should clarify that I do not mean that I do not want Pixar in the parks or that I don’t want any of the other acquisitions in the parks

That would be a huge mistake. There is no story to tell with coasters. What would be the point?

It needs Shanghai boat tech or something revolutionary that can add thrills, AAs, and story telling the way Disney used to. This needs to be a slam dunk for MK. One coaster with the sleeping beauty castle, thorns, and Dragon AA, sure. But the other ride should def be more family friendly.
Guardians ride has heaps of story.

In saying that i fully support your suggestion. a shanghai pirates level boat ride and a scary coaster involving a dragon would be a dream outcome.

This land needs some B and A ticket stuff too! If this is to be the mirrorverse dark kingdom, anti-Fantasyland... it needs more than TWO ATTRACTIONS!
Am I the only one who is of the opinion to spend 100's of millions of dollars on a new land to have 2 new attractions is just plain stupid? Toy Story land, Star Wars Land, Avatar all just 2 new attractions and the complaint is all of these are under developed. Yet it appears Villains land and the AK new land both appear to have only 2 new attractions (and no I do not count a redo on Dinosaur a new attraction).

Imagine if they built a brand new land and instead of an E-ticket and a C that cost millions of dollars, they build a land with 5 or 6 B tickets (but ones the whole family can ride). Just sayin’…

You’re going to get an “E” that’s really a D-ticket, and a C-ticket that looks amazing from the outside but wears thing after you’ve experienced it once or twice.

You can then wander around shopping areas with few enticing wares and while figuring out if you want to eat at a QSR or try and wait in the interminably long standby line for the small bar while you process how little was gotten for such a large movement of land and money.

Definitely need a dark ride like Rise imo.
