Ok, I’ve settled down on this after a while of mourning: this was going to happen eventually. Even if they used Animation courtyard and other expansion spots first, with how Disney is, of course they would want to get rid of grand avenue, with underperforming shops and restaurants, and retheme it to something else. I think muppetvision could've had a longer life, say if it was at a park like Epcot or magic kingdom, but it was unfortunately at the WORST park for rides sticking around long term, DHS, in a terrible long term space. I think this is honestly one of the best case scenario’s realistically. Muppetvision’s replacement actually expands capacity and brings us one of the most lamented “What If’s” of all time, and finally brings HarryHausens to life. We also get Muppets RNRC, which means a new dedicated muppets shop for merch, keeping muppets at WDW and DHS in a permanent spot, and saving HOP (for now). And potentially MORE muppets stuff at wdw if what some insiders are saying is to be believed and happens, as well as potential muppetvision preservation, and with some murmurs from cm’s with the store reopening, a final hurrah for muppetvision in the cards. I know this isnt what we wanted, but if we have to lose muppetvision, i think this is one of the best outcomes we could’ve gotten.
