DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

If they apparently didn't consider replacing Dino-Rama with Ice Age, allowing them to keep the "prehistoric animal" theme for Dinoland, I doubt Rio was even considered even though it'd fit a lot more than Indiana Jones.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I haven’t read the whole thread. What are all the overhead wires going through the village? Are they just electrical wires for themeing or are things going to be floating around on them?

I believe it’s part of the theming since they seem to be concentrated in the “village” section of the land, but I could be wrong.
They seem to be going back to AK’s roots and developing a culturally accurate environment that bleed into the two main attractions- I love how of each of the carousel horses will be wood carved sculptures of Disney animal characters.

This post will be focused primarily on rides, seeing as how many people don’t care so much about the animal trails (I am not one of those people).
I still think that the Lion King boat/dark ride will be made for the Harambe area. Once Tropical Americas is completed, there will be 3 rides and the Nemo theater. Pandora has 2 attractions and Anandapur has 2 attractions and the bird show. Harambe has the huge safari ride and the Lion King show. But in terms of rides it has one, and if this park offers enough to have it open till nighttime again, this ride course early. Simply put, you can tell that Pandora and Tropical Americas are made to stay open late. Ditto the Anandapur and Serka Zong sections of Asia. To balance the lands out better, Harambe simply needs at least one more attraction. Logically I would argue each land should have 3 attractions minimum with an incredible nighttime show to keep DAK competitive. But this is modern Disney, so baby steps.
I am still confident that the Lion King ride eventually gets made. Disney is “expanding” their parks by reimagining areas that don’t consistently attract guests and/or deliver on merch sales. They are trying to maximize what they have before truly embracing expansion. Adding at least one big indoor attraction to Harambe accomplished this (I think they should add another to Pandora as well). It will make each land a destination during the night hours, keeping people entertained leading up to a new night time show. Time will tell.

The contract between Marvel and Universal seems to only protect characters, not environments. That's why some people thought Disney could do a Wakanda Land as long as they didn't use the key characters.

Then Disney has almost never built a land ever with 2 traditional E tickets (unless you fudge the numbers with their technical definition of an "e-ticket")

If this is a land based in reality - the local wood carvers would be arrested and fined for using Disney IP without authorization.
Would be a fun backstory!

It's cool and all that everyone gets excited or whatever, but yall should honestly keep your expectations in check. Everytime some new announcements come around, everyone here has to shove their fingers in their ears and act like we haven't been through this before.
It's definitely possible that Encanto is an E-ticket, but that would also go against what we know Disney usually does. Assuming it's gonna be this world class E-ticket on the level of Mystic Manor is just silly. Not because it can't happen but because in situations similar to this, it consistently doesn't.

I live nowhere near a savanna, and we have people here who love all sorts of exotic animals. Some, like my daughter, even make art of them.

Uh, aren't most of the carousels tied to an IP? They're generally either themed to the host castle (Cinderella, Prince Charming) or King Arthur to tie into the Sword in the Stone, which is usually nearby. I think Shanghai's is Fantasia. Some rely less on the source IP and more on the surrounding architecture as an imagined ride that might occupy a fair in the same fantasy world, but they generally do have a touch of Disney IP so that they're more than just a carousel.

The irony of hating ip based attractions when Disney land was built in order to promote walts companies featured films.
The castles are based off ips, should we get rid of them too?
Y’all need to more straight forward with your opinions on ips, because y’all can’t say well I love fantasy land ips because they are classic - but hate the new ips because I can’t relate to them like I did when I was a kid.
There is way too much wishy washy on this subject and it’s somewhat irritating. I don’t care if Disney shoves an ip in every attraction because:
1) it’s there company and they can do what they want. Yes they need to cater the park to their fans, but this board is a sub section of a sub section with some of the most hard core Disney fans there are on the planet.
2) ips make attractions more enjoyable. Yes, it should connect into the theming done in the right way…but if jungle cruise was themed to a lion king tie in, I can guarantee you that the que would be stretching past out adventure land.

Well “we’all” have our own opinions - it’s not wishy-washy, we all have different views.
Fantasyland IP’s fit because they are in fantasyland - not because they are “classic” - any Disney princess would automatically fit in fantasyland - tangled, frozen, Moana, etc. - new IP in fantasyland would be great.

Don’t get me wrong you will get some good information at wdwmagic, but there is a lot more baseless bias and bad information. This place isn’t what it was.
This train guy is the worst. He tried to make an argument about Transformers essentially being on par with Rise. After a long conversation he admits he doesn’t even remember the ride. My point is I wouldnt be surprised if this guy was a paid shill or someone with an axe to grind. Regardless he isn’t transparent and he hates everything Disney.

- I love Disney! The parks especially. What do you feel I’m not transparent about? You just recently started posting regularly so maybe you only saw recent posts that were overly negative - I can assure you I’m a huge fan of the Disney Parks and the history of the company
