They can’t keep it there forever just because Jim worked on it. That really shouldn’t be a reason to keep something. Maybe Library of Congress will want a recording.
Thank you. People need to stop treating that attraction like some sort of shrine, jeez.

Maybe Henson's kids - who have gotta be rolling in dough since they sold their dad's characters twice - can buy the theater and put it someplace. Maybe build their own theme park or something. Or maybe Sesame Place would want it. Or maybe some other theme park. Or whatever.

I wonder if all of this could be used and save Muppets for possible GE Expansion. Would that be too much?

Tons of offices and parking they don’t want to move.

But, could they? Sure. They just won’t right now.

In Disneyland they have no problems moving people to off site or even doing crazy stuff like taking the horses for Main Street and driving them in every single morning. People have to park off site and get shuttled in to go to work every day? It's fine. As long as they can use the space as efficiently as possible to pack the park.

But at WDW: move a few folks out of office space to use that for guest room in a park? Heavens no.

It’s outrageous and should be unacceptable. But, people get comfortable. So, DHS will stay under built and poorly organized. ”We will fix that next decade,” will continue to be the response to that criticism for a few more decades.

I mean, do people who work in the former Animation building have specific parks functions where they need to be onsite? I'm under the impression that they don't (anyone can feel free to correct me) and they could be just as easily served by an office in another location.

If that is true, then it preposterous to not move them immediately and tear that building down to expand the guest areas of the park. DHS is already kind of cramped with not enough stuff to do and poor guest flow due to dead ends. Removing the entire old Animation Building structure (not just Launch Bay) as well as parking that doesn't need to be within park boundaries is such a no brainer for the park's needs that it is infuriating that they are even talking about removing a currently used attraction for "expansion" instead.

They could move but you’d need to budget rebuilding all of that stuff which they just aren’t budgeting for in this project. The next CEO can find that money. Or not.

For 2024 it's a stupid space for a theme park IMO. Those buildings/parking have to go to expand the park's footprint.

I'm not worried about the next phase. I don't want Launch Bay for another next 5-10 years.

I mean, I get that. But to me you do this now. If that means the project needs to be stretched out an extra 1-2 years for a larger budget and more complex work then IMHO that's fine. It's better to actually improve the park and do it right ASAP than just just continue to putz around with changes that don't actually make anything better.

Muppet Vision 3D is a truly phenomenal attraction. That being said, we all know that it won't last forever. Unfortunately, with nearly every film-based attraction in the Disney Parks, it has a shelf life.

I really don't want it to be replaced this way. Especially when DHS is RIPE with expansion. No reason to replace it when there is empty space all over.

But if it absolutely must, the VERY least they can do is release and remaster the film and distribute it to the public as a celebration of Jim Henson's legacy.

To be fair, the films Jim made are on Disney+. But, perhaps they could add a recording of this.

But people around here said dozens of times that D+ would be profitable and the money spigot for the $60 billion for parks and experiences would start flowing cash on October 1, 2024.

Missed a few days here due to work, but has anyone discuss that TWDC has a "10 year plan" and all we've seen is the next 5 years? Monsters may go here because it's saving the space in Animation Courtyard for the back half of the 10 years of building?

I don't think this is the end all be all of turbocharged parks for a decade.

I really think Zootopia is the plan for AC ... it will be more expensive to build & they will likely have to develop a new attraction that isn't a clone of the trackless from shanghai to keep the offerings in DHS not to similar. If this is the case & they will relocate Muppets in due time ... I am okay with the placement of monsters.
