DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

With IJ going into AK now, is there any chance they would replace the stunt show? That would allow more expansion if they do take SWLB and MV3D. (For the record, I want this to take over AC and the backside of Sunset Blvd)

I would imagine they will eventually replace the stunt show but IJ in DAK is 3 years away and then they tend to be slow to change things anyway and have no problem operating the same IP in different parks.

If you remove the stunt show - and admittedly some backstage buildings that would need to be replaced - you can build into the parking lot and physically expand the park's footprint.

@lentesta moving to this thread. How could DHS handle the operational capacity of losing Star Tours/Muppets for this? Do you expect the operational capacity of this single ride to be enough?

I am not sure how they could handle that capacity loss. I have to think the coaster will have a lower capacity the Star Tours alone.

I don't think that means a totally new area. I highly doubt this will be totally greenfield development, it will replace something.

I want to be wrong here - but if it were to be a new space, I feel like they would not limit themselves to a courtyard? If it were to go behind Sunset for example, that would end up being a street

I think I'm really in on the idea they are only looking for replacements. I think the one thing that may save Muppets and Star Tours is that AC definitely has a good number of cast as well.

Looking at Cars in MK and Encanto in AK it really appears that they are trying to optimize under preforming areas, instead of building new additions.

At worst, I’d see them replacing ONE of those. Most likely, the coaster replaces Star Tours and they keep a 3D show (Muppets or something new). If they use this plot. But I still thing it goes into AC. The actual model doesn’t look like Grand Ave even if one drawing does.

The fact is, it can't. It would be a disaster if it's not added capacity from an operational standpoint. Last summer it was bad enough. When rise went down for over an hour, half of tower all day, and rockin was up and down throughout the day, it was a miserable mess.

At this point I doubt they care. If you're a fan of muppets and rivers of America, I'm not sure we're the fans they care to make happy anymore. I think we're more of a thorn in their side to be honest.

That could be a great Phase I, and maybe leave the Courtyard for a Phase II. Eventually make a "Streets of Pixar" area that features Monsters, Incredibles, and a third Pixar IP - then also connected to Toy Story?
