Star Wars fans fall into 2 camps… those that are happy with Disney Star Wars and those that aren’t… the ones that aren’t have stopped watching… I fall in the middle so I continue to watch as I still enjoy some… but there are some people ( and I know this is not you because I saw state you were hoping to like The Acolyte)

I have nothing against anyone who enjoys Disney star wars. But it's always a bit amusing to see so many just immediately throw out the hate mongering card at anyone who criticizes Disney star wars. I personally had high hopes for Disney star wars, and I still do. But when something doesn't work for me I'm going to say it. I've said many times there's a good story inside the acolyte. It's just not told particularly well. But yet I keep hearing your just mad because they aren't telling the story you want. Uhh no, it's just poor storytelling in my opinion, there's a difference.

I stuck up for the show until after ep6. Even then I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I did what so many complain that no one does. And that's watch the whole thing before you make your final judgement. But it seems even that's still not good enough. And it's just a little perplexing that discussing the flaws made so many so upset. In my opinion the complaints were really all in good faith. There wasn't any "toxic" behavior like what wendy tried to cry. Both good and bad were both being discussed.

Or you need it writt out in crayon for you… this show format is not intended for repeat viewing. They aren’t losing any sleep if people don’t go back for casual repeats on 8hr miniseries!

I even said it outright ‘a tv show of this format’. If you think the post is flawed… consider reading it more till you find the pieces you skip over.

Sorry, I just don't buy it. If you think Disney is making their content to be one and done, fine. They might not lose any sleep if people don't go back for seconds. But I guarantee they lose sleep if people stop going for firsts.

I was talking about it with friends and family. Debating things like Ewoks and speculating how Vader became evil, or what happened in the battle of Taanab... We would watch the VHS tapes, I even had them on laser disc. If there was a video game I wanted it. You know, normal things that fans do. If you want everything to be one and done, good for you. But sorry to burst your bubble, not everyone is like you.

What else should I think? You've now multiple times railed on me for something that isn't true. That's shilling in my book. You're defending the product by making things up and being unreasonable. If I'm so wrong, here's a thought, ignore me. It's not that hard. But you've taken a very odd stance on an opinion you are in the extreme minority on.

I never threw out any hate cards… I just said people I know IRL either like Disney Star Wars or did not care for Disney Star Wars…I did not use the word hate in any capacity

That's where a lot of this discussion went off the rails. While I haven't read every single post, I have read at least 95% of them. And this comment was not posted in good faith as I've seen none of that in this thread. It's the same ol' same ol' group who have to assign that lable to all the fans because they have to defend Disney at all cost. And unfortunately the quality of content isn't strong enough to defend based on itself. So when all else fails, it's hidden agendas and casual sexism...

She snapped because she was lied to by the person she trusted the most, who killed her 'mom.' She also learned that it wasn't her sister who killed the rest of the witches with the fire she accidentally set. And we discover it was this gnawing anger and grief which kept her from becoming a Jedi.

Did we ever find out how the rest of the witches dies? It wasn’t clear if it was just them overusing their powers during the group chant or the Jedi killed them off screen or it was Mae from lighting the fire. It’s a weird thing to leave hanging.

They were all using their powers to posses Kelnacca and when Indara forced them out she seemed to have severed them from their life force in the process.

Overall, I didnt like the ending. I actually thought the show was decent in terms of being entertaining but with a completely unsatisfying ending. My bullet point thoughts…

- Thought Sol was the best character in the show, pretty justified in his actions, and didn’t deserve to be done dirty. Not only getting killed by having his name soiled.

- I didn’t buy the Osha change. Way too abrupt and didn’t fit. I don’t buy it and joining Qimir just didn’t make any sense.

- why the hell did they need to wipe Mae’s memory? Just all fly away together. Completely nonsensical. They could always drop off Mae somewhere else if need be

- could they explain what the heck is up with Bazil? His actions didn’t follow any obvious logic but drive the plot a good bit. Is there any reason he and Sol didn’t just talk? Weird

- I just hate this descent of making Jedi look bad. They should be haughty and with hubris. But always doing the right thing and not morally grey.

- I hate vanestra. She just is so annoying and looks weird too. I wish she had died almost all the characters.

- Qimir is the only living character who I’m interested in seeing more of. Curious about his backstory. I wouldn’t care if Osha and Mae died off screen.

I thought it was better than Boba Fett, about on par with Obi Wan. More fun but less quality than Andor. Ashoka and Mando still are the best SW live action shows.

You realize the quote from @Mike S is pointing out hypocrisy right? He saying that if Mae was shown with, lets say, a bra and panties, it would have been an issue. But Yord and Qimere, beefcake Kylo? No issues. In no way is that casual sexism. The other comment is saying he's surprised that it wasn't a woman scantily clad. It's not sexist, it's something that would never happen.

You actually being against his comment could very much be argued as the casual sexism.
