Well that makes total sense now.
The show failed…have we gotten over it yet?
Right…the hate networkThe usual trolls certainly haven't, based on the casual sexism and homophobia being peddled here.
These are the same people who will still be harping on about the Starcruiser two years from now.
Why is it the complainers and whiners that hate Disney Star Wars are the ones who keep discussing it… If I dislike something.,, I will say that was not for me and move on… I certainly don’t keep returning to something I don’t care forRight…the hate network
The fact it wasn’t a good show never moves the needle of evil, does it?
Well I’ve said littleWhy is it the complainers and whiners that hate Disney Star Wars are the ones who keep discussing it… If I dislike something.,, I will say that was not for me and move on… I certainly don’t keep returning to something I don’t care for
I haven't seen any of that here for this show. The vast majority of criticism this show has received is 100% warranted. Complaints about mediocre writing, acting, character development, structure... All spot on. Even a lot of the apologists have the same issues with it.The usual trolls certainly haven't, based on the casual sexism and homophobia being peddled here.
Well my guess would be that some, like myself, have A LOT of years invested in star wars. So talking about what went wrong, what can be better is fairly normal. It's what fandoms do. When those people stop talking about it you cross the bridge to apathy. And that's a lot worse than complaining on a forum. Most, not all, that "complain" about star wars, just want it to be better. And unfortunately as much as I wanted this show to be good, it just really fell short for me. And that's unfortunately been a Disney star wars trend. Why is it the complainers and whiners that hate Disney Star Wars are the ones who keep discussing it… If I dislike something.,, I will say that was not for me and move on… I certainly don’t keep returning to something I don’t care for
Yeah…I didn’t see anything that is always dismissed as THN…I haven't seen any of that here for this show. The vast majority of criticism this show has received is 100% warranted. Care to share some examples? The usual trolls certainly haven't, based on the casual sexism and homophobia being peddled here.
It's someone watching the usual suspects on you tube and projecting that on all the fans that have issues with the show. It can't be a mediocre product, it has to be toxic fans! Kennedy is knocking it out of the park, it can't be bad!Yeah…I didn’t see anything that is always dismissed as THN…
Which means to accuse it is just the standard tribal stance without looking at the product
Maybe THN only focuses on shows that crack the Nielsen ratings, which hasn’t been the case since just after the series debutedIt's someone watching the usual suspects on you tube and projecting that on all the fans that have issues with the show. I have invested many years into Star Wars as well… my first film going experience was seeing A New Hope in 1977 as a 5 year old… by Empire (my all time favorite movie)I was hooked… my least favorite Star Wars film was The Rise of Skywalker… it is the only Star Wars movie I have seen only once… said so when it was first released… and I moved on some still feel the need to rail on the movie 5 years laterWell my guess would be that some, like myself, have A LOT of years invested in star wars. We're in the acolyte thread. The show is just over a week since it ended. Of course people are going to still complain about it, there's a lot that could have been done MUCH better. Why isn't there a bigger group of people talking about what was great and what could be if there's a season 2?I have invested many years into Star Wars as well… my first film going experience was seeing A New Hope in 1977 as a 5 year old… by Empire (my all time favorite movie)I was hooked… my least favorite Star Wars film was The Rise of Skywalker… it is the only Star Wars movie I have seen only once… said so when it was first released… and I moved on some still feel the need to rail on the movie 5 years later
This has not stopped people from saying they disliked Disney Star Wars and That Star Wars would not be good until Kennedy leaves… but yet they keep watching…There is too much content out there these days to continue to watch something I know I will dislikeWe're in the acolyte thread. If you've been a fan for that long, then you know it's nothing new. Fans have been going back and forth on things like Ewoks since 1983. It's called being a fan. As I said earlier, apathy would be the worst thing for star wars. At least if people are "complaining", they still have some investment.
Why isn't there a bigger group of people talking about what was great and what could be if there's a season 2?
You must not be a sports fan. Just because you don't like the coach, doesn't mean you disown the team. Kennedy is a bad coach. It's highly unlikely the team gets better under her leadership. She's in the hall of fame, her record as a producer is set. But she's not a good fit for star wars. I don't see why that's such a controversial take. People who don't like Kennedy star wars watch because they are hopeful it gets better. The acolyte seems to show that. People gave the show a chance because they hoped it would be good. By the fourth episode it fell off the map. This has not stopped people from saying they disliked Disney Star Wars and That Star Wars would not be good until Kennedy leaves… but yet they keep watching…
I don't know, maybe that mentality is part of the problem. They're more concerned about pumping out content instead of well thought out ideas and quality. If everyone has that attitude, why bother trying? Good, bad, doesn't matter. Consume content and move on. Who cares, I'll just wait for the next thing. Star wars was built on the fans talking about it, debating it, even complaining about it LONG after it's the here and now.Because it’s a tv show… not my daily workout.
Tv shows… that we consume, then put aside, so we can consume some other tv show. I don’t know about you.., but in my world most people expend more energy on now and up and coming… not rehashing what was already said.

As far as the "now and up and coming". How is the acolyte not now? It's only a bit over a week old. And for the up and coming? That's a bit hard with how badly Kennedy has handled the brand. What of the multitude of content she announced but most likely never happen do we talk about?
So if you don't dwell on stuff once it's done. Why dwell on people still discussing this? I would think you would just move on to something different if it's not your thing?
You might try reading what you post out loud. Disney has no ambition that people keep coming back? If you keep producing turds, people will stop showing up all together. You have a pretty flawed viewpoint. It’s a tv show dude. People watch it and they sell your eyeballs or charge you to watch. It’s not a brand of its own… it’s not some ecosystem… it’s not some long term recurring renewing product. It’s a TV show they hope will entertain and can draw customers. They have no ambition that people are going to keep going back to the well on a tv show of this format. They aren’t doing syndicated episodic content to keep in repeats, etc. Consume and look to the next is what is expected. It’s now part of the library… not that people are going to keep rewatching.
The fan base as we know it now is basically the same fan base from then. They talk and discuss the same way, just in a different format. I never said they have to listen to anyone. But they might want to consult with someone because they seem to have a grasp on what they are doing.Star wars was built on…’ what on earth are you talking about. Fandoms as we know them now came long after the actual films were made… and certainly not part of the creative process. Kershner wasn’t sweating nerd fights… they were courting the masses.
Maybe try reading more. I'm not drolling about anything. I was responding to another poster saying move on to up and coming projects. I don't want to droll on it because as of now there's nothing to droll about, that's the problem.Well this is the thread about one show… if you want to droll about the future of the brand isn’t there some other better place to do that?
You are on a discussion board Einstein. I gave my opinion, it's what you do on a... discussion board. You seem very offended I questioned lucasfilm on this show. You keep bringing it up, why bother responding? I get it, you want to shill for them, that's fine, you do you. But to think your opinion is some superior vision is fairly laughable. Especially when this show has performed the way it has. Yea, and I have the bad take.Thats what people were doing… and you had to post to question why no one was doing what YOU thought they should. Seems a repeating theme here…
For the most part I am not a sports fan… except I am a die hard Chicago Cubs fan…. So I know the feeling of sticking with a team no matter what… I guess I see sports different than watching content… most die hard sports fans I know are obsessed… but the people I do know that are Star Wars fans fall into 2 camps… those that are happy with Disney Star Wars and those that aren’t… the ones that aren’t have stopped watching… I fall in the middle so I continue to watch as I still enjoy some… but there are some people ( and I know this is not you because I saw state you were hoping to like The Acolyte)who declare that the show was going to be awful before even the first episode aired because it was Disney… but yet still watch and discuss… why???… there are hours and hours of content available I am sure they would enjoy moreYou must not be a sports fan.
