It’s ironic that the ride where you board a sedan is faster than the one where you board a race car.
True, though RSR has more terrain variation that adds to its "thrill". Test Track mostly travels either in a straight line or around curves, while RSR has a few humps along the road.
Also worth noting is that RSR is a “race” between two cars which might help it feel faster or perhaps more meaningful.
Yeah, I actually think the two are different enough that they’d work in separate parks.
Oh, they are very different experiences. IMHO no issues at all with both being in the same resort (though I do agree that different parks would be appropriate).
Never mind the fact that RSR would be totally inappropriate for Epcot (not that they didn’t consider it…).
TBF I’m unsure if the cars on RSR are strictly RACE CAR race cars like Lightning McQueen himself. I think they’re just regular convertibles that like racing?
Quick google maps measure gives me Test track ~2500 feet outdoors and RSR ~1600 feet outdoors. But like mentioned above the speeds are much different. RSR is also way more visually interesting so probably feels longer.

Got to be careful with "popping up on different sites." It's unlikely that all those sites have an insider giving them actual intel. More than likely, they're just repeating what one originally said. So, the number of sites repeating what a number of sites are repeating is in no way a validation of the rumor.
My apologies, I didn’t mean to imply that the multiple appearances gave any validity to the claims. I just meant to convey that it was something has been in the ether for a number of months now.
