Well, let's hope for the best..... It's here now....might as well try to find the good in it... lol And since we only got this and the central core mess for the whole revitilization of EPCOT, it should be astounding.....

My guess is it will work at whatever is the normal frequency for a month, then break, then maybe work once in a while after that.

Yeah, I was going to say that I suspect it will "work" for quite some time - but not as often/effectively/reliably after the first few months

They already got the Moana themed cornhole ready for when it breaks down:
If the mist doesn't really move, it's going to be unbearably muggy in there by 10am every day.

No worries. It will break and be turned off shortly after the attraction opens.
Ummm... there are misters all over the parks as cooling stations.

I'm well aware of misters around the parks. They're also out in the open, where the mist can dissipate quickly (or condense onto nearby surfaces). This will be somewhat enclosed in the "walkthrough experience". So like I said - if this mist doesn't move, you'll have the sunlight on it and during the hotter Florida months... ugh. I'm sure the crack Imagineering staff, lead by THEZACH, took that into consideration during the planning and design phases of the project.

I think we're missing the point. The mist is clearly Disney's answer to the HHN fog machines. Magic Candle Co scent coming soon.

So with cast previews starting soon, do you guys think this will be open by my trip that starts Oct 8th? I have a (currently) 11 month old that absolutely loves Moana and I feel like this is something he will enjoy if its open.

Can never say anything for certain with Disney but I would be shocked if it isn't open by then. That is more than 2 months from now (which was the gap from when CM previews were for Tron and when it opened).
I am going last week of August and I am 50/50 if it will be open by then. Definitely think it will be open for when DestinationD23 is in Sept as something for guests to see.
But again, never can tell with Disney
