I believe you're thinking of the one that's being blocked by the support post.
Yes, that is definitely not what I pictured in my head. That is strange, I guess we will see what it looks like in the end, but I pictured it like a sun.
It looks like it's perhaps a strip of LED lighting in the new concept? Hard to say because we only got a blurry shot of the art in a social media post.
Possibly again, not what I pictured it can look good in practice.

Ugh...I guess it's a damned if the do and damned if they don't kind of thing.
These panels give it a more finished look but the proportions are bad. It's so clunky and wide. It makes the starship look tiny.
Hopefully it'll look better in person and have a nice lighting package.

Maybe this is a ladder enclosure to enter the ship.

Now you are just being contrary to be contrary. The ride will be open this Summer. The lines will be hours long and I am sure you will
still be complaining about decoration out front.
This post shows how little you know me. I will walk past it without giving it a second thought. (If I ever go WDW again, but that is another topic)

This is the first time I have posted an opinion on the appearance of the stand as I was waiting until they were near or at completion. My hope was that they would pull off some miracle and make the thing look decent. They failed miserably and managed to make it look even worse. There is nothing contrarian about that opinion at all as it seems to be the general consensus.

I'm surprised by how poorly designed this was. The support column is too large and throws off the proportions for the ship itself, and it completely blocks the bottom fin. What was the point of even building the bottom fin when you can't see it unless you're directly behind the ship?

I honestly think it looked better when it was uncovered. At least you could see the bottom fin through it.

I agree. I have to assume this was a budget and/or speed issue. That seems to be a current thing with several recent placement/finishes/proportions/etc. "decisions".
