I wonder how close soft openings are, it seems they are gearing up quickly but we have no way of knowing how the inside is coming along.

I believe you're thinking of the one that's being blocked by the support post.

No. The original concept art had a larger fin at the bottom, but later artwork had a smaller one at the back.

Theming isn’t ornament. Many of the images already shared are simple but are much more themed because they fit the aesthetic of a sleek jet.

It looks like it's perhaps a strip of LED lighting in the new concept? Hard to say because we only got a blurry shot of the art in a social media post.

Using material like the pillars in the new Epcot entrance fountain might've been less clunky visually, but I don't know if that stuff could handle the weight of the ship.

Yes, that is definitely not what I pictured in my head. That is strange, I guess we will see what it looks like in the end, but I pictured it like a sun.

No doubt, but they went from chunky to super chunky.

IMHO a display stand should be as invisible as possible. This is the exact opposite of that.

Ugh...I guess it's a damned if the do and damned if they don't kind of thing.
These panels give it a more finished look but the proportions are bad. It's so clunky and wide. It makes the starship look tiny.
Hopefully it'll look better in person and have a nice lighting package.

Maybe this is a ladder enclosure to enter the ship.

I think that will be closed up later. Another view shows the left hand side is currently offset compared to the right side, possibly to finish electrical work.

This post shows how little you know me. I will walk past it without giving it a second thought. (If I ever go WDW again, but that is another topic)

This is the first time I have posted an opinion on the appearance of the stand as I was waiting until they were near or at completion. My hope was that they would pull off some miracle and make the thing look decent. They failed miserably and managed to make it look even worse. There is nothing contrarian about that opinion at all as it seems to be the general consensus.

I honestly think it looked better when it was uncovered. At least you could see the bottom fin through it.

I agree. I have to assume this was a budget and/or speed issue. That seems to be a current thing with several recent placement/finishes/proportions/etc. "decisions".
