Dino is down to 2 attractions at this point... A new Pacific Island themed area could have 3 attractions...biggest problem is the current management's lack of motivation to do anything like that. The Star Wars big build is testament to that...All that construction and two attractions... Like Pandora... not-quite finished additions in all cases...

I will absolutely die on the hill that three attractions would be replacements, not 2 replacements and 1 new. Closing an attraction down, adding nothing, and then a few years later announcing a new ride in the same area does not get a pass as a new ride. It's crazy to me how few rides DAK and DHS actually have.

I understand they will connect this back to the vision of DAK by explaining (with a deep, and thrilling, dive into the impact of the creation of transgenic organisms on the overall ecology of an ecosystem) how in the hell this happened:

Parents will be thrilled to have Disney do all the work here by explaining to children why they cannot, in fact, make babies with a frog. That’s one less uncomfortable conversation for parents.

Pairing non-frog species with a frog... replacing Dinorama... why not just buy the rights to Jurassic Park already.

Zootopia is a pretty dumb addition to AK, but I can see why it's a rumor.

But the original AK had a unicorn and dragons in the original concept art. It's not all about the Earth's natural environment. There is still a dragon in the logo which leaves room for mystical/magical/non-reality based ideas for the park.

To be fair, Zootopia is not a rumor. It’s a project in development. Whether it is built is a different question.

Including mythological animals does not mean the park was intended to include any and all fictional animals. Myths are not just old stories, they’re expressions of a worldview and how different peoples relate to the world.

That's why I don't understand why they even mentioned any of these things. IMO it all sounds like panic has set in regards to Epic Universe. They expected Epic Universe to be delayed longer and now that it's not they are panicking

It’s not really panic. It’s been mentioned around these parts that Dinoland would see changes and that they’d eventually expand north of Big Thunder. Now you just know those of us saying that weren’t just blowing hot air.

I suspect they will be ready to announce official plans with artwork at Destination D23 next fall, which makes sense. That’s at WDW. Moana may be underway by then but it would still be early stages.

It comes off that way with the way they announced it. I get they didn't have much to announce this year. I have always have been of the opinion of following what regional parks do and don't say anything til shovels are in the ground.

Sure. I’ll believe it when I see it, too. My point was moreover that they aren’t terribly worried about Uni. Whether they should be or not is up for debate, but Chapek Is rather confident in the product. These new projects are meant to increase capacity because the parks are too popular; not to pull guests from Uni.

I have my doubts much of this is going to happen. As you said those on the ground in the parks know what's needed but the top guys don't want to spend.

Chapek spends a fortune in the parks and will spend more if he thinks there’s money to be made. And MK frequently fills and could use capacity. DAK could accept more people if there was enough for people to stay all day. It’s not terribly helpful when they leave at 4 pm and go to an already-busy MK for the night.

If that's the case why didn't they spend money now. They need capacity now. Yet they decided that replacing 2 night time shows and a new animatronic was more important
